India will come back at sydney
by Pankaj Khatri on Dec 31, 2011 06:27 AM  | Hide replies

I am sure before india won the world cup in 2011 all of you had the same negative comments to share. India played good cricket for 3 days at McG. We bowled really well but a few batsmen didnt click. This is the time we should support the team rather than venting our frustration.
Wcpak - a loser whose country is playing bangladesh and feels like a champion. look at your record in australia you get smashes 3-0 everty time you come here

Yes India will come back at Sydney. Offourse they will come back from 2 days (well 3 days rest) and play. They have to play in 4 Tests right. So they will come back and play.

They will also come back in Perth and Adelaide :-) and play.

Finally they will do Australian shopping and buy stuffed toys, kangaroo dolls and remote controlled koala bears for their kids and COME BACK to INDIA :-)

india has two pronged problem.

1. Delimma is indian paceman bowling like Aussies or Angrez bowlers. One of the bowlers has admitted that Mcgrath is his person to follow. that means bowling what videshis are used to.

When indian pacers are bowling against indian batsmen. they are made to bowl like Australian or angrez bowlers such that indian batsmen can be prepared to face opposition. You can see gambhir asking Ishant to mimic opposition bowling for his preparation. Tendulkar asking yadav and zaheer to hit and angle like angrez and aussie bowlers.

Which leaves indian bowlers bowling to aussie batting what they are already used to and have prepared on nets against Aussie bowling. indian dilemma being Indian bowler cCaged into fFeeding indian batsmen.

Instead of preparing to ape videshi bowling, desi bowlers need to on larger extent should focus their bowling on the squares on pitch without desi batsmen and reviewing their bowling (that is recorded) as to how it can counter videshi batting action and moves to hit wicket or get snick by drawing the batting into a catch. reviewing the control swing, angles, rise, etc. Even with practicing videshi style bowling for sake of indian batting, indians cannot get the videshi bowling style fully and thus desi batting gets flummoxed. dravid was so focussed on checking out hussey batting style that he dropped a sitter off ashwin.

2. Aussies have planned their bowling to tTrouble sShort batsmen. Do we have any tall batsmen with go

continued ..
Do we have any tall batsmen with good eye on bBall? Shorter batsmen will have to be a bit better with shot selection as their reach gets limited for rRising bBalls and they have nobody to aApe.

You were in a dilemma whether to type lowercase or uppercase I guess :-)

So its all in SHAVING. Please SHAVE the grass well. Please listen to Prashant - he is expert on grass shaving.

fast track....
by Thomas Jacob on Dec 31, 2011 12:24 AM  | Hide replies

If people in Australia, England, SA stick to preparing pitches which suite their players, why do Indians always want pitches that are fast??? Why do overseas players condemn our pitches as dead??? I say, prepare square turners... Playing pace bowling alone is not cricket...

I am sure I will have at least a few people who support me

Fact is you can be number one only if you can beat the oppostion in their own yard.. with all conditions favouring them..

Turning track which assists pace on Day 5? That truly is IMPOSSIBLE.. No Indian curator would allow it.
