I think its failing when it comes to team sports. Its because we need representation from all regions irrespective of performance.. and then there is a whole lot of region based followers and worshippers, who want their home state players to play for country. Selectors are from different regions and languages and they have their personal bias and choices...
this is maligning every team sport in the country - be it cricket, hockey, football.. you name it.. only sport where indians are in the top is chess which is individual sport and not a team sport. This also explains how a country like south korea who had no hockey or football teams in 1980 can come up so high in the respective games despite having fewer people and history and following... and being able to compete with the best in the world.

They are all good and handle any kind of attack on any pitch…. In past they have done it quite frequently and will do it in future….. They don’t lack in class or technique but just need to keep their heads cool. They need to perform at crucial time when the expectations are too high… I think the new generation has that cool attitude, they just need to gain some experience and learn few things from the seniors Captain shall play a key role here! We have the greats with us… Just their greatness should contribute in winning run of a Team India

it is a pity and a world wide known fact that indian players are paper champions and tigers. This failures are quite common for indians as they fail to apply as usual. Sehwag and gambhir either injury are get out recklessly. sachin,dravid, laxman only in paper world best batsman as they lack technique and application against raw fast bowlers. Kohli it is a shame and too much boasted and dhoni is another one and the bowlers not to mention as they cannot take tail wickets. Anyway usual indian shame and disaster!!!!! They know only how to boast and show off and not to play the game well with technique, application and determination!!!!! Waste of indian tax payers money for nothing!!!!????
Sourav retired 3 yrs back,from then Yuvraj,Raina,Pujara,Kohli,Badrinath,Rohit......the list is unlimited..but no one has been able to cement their place at Nos 6 crucial position,so selctors can think of getting Sourav back atleast for Aus tour and since he has also scored nearly 500 runs in Ranji Trophy this year and not to forget that he has 113 Test experience under his belt..!!

But he was a big failure on green & bouncy tracks... And what about his sloppy fielding and poor running between the wickets? He is good at ranaji level and let him play there :)

Your famed line up at any cost loses all Tests abroad..so whars the harm..? And all our players graduate into test level after playing Ranji trophy..?? Isnt it ..? Have u forgotten his 144 at Gabba in Brisbane on a bouncy track..!! There were no Ranji bowlers..!! It was Mcgrath,Gillespie,Warne..etc.

Dude cricket is not a govt job to cement someone's place on..unfortunately sourav thought so and was given undue leeway in that slot for too long. He should have been sacked much earlier even from No 6 spot.
