Day in and day out on this and other sport portals, people don't get tired of bashing Sachin and to an extent Dravid about not retiring. Is today proof enough that they are still leagues apart from the others in the batting line up? What an exhibtion of pure mastery by Sachin for his 73!!!!! Its been 5 years and India has tried Kohli,Yuvraj, Raina, Pujara at no.6 to replace the weakest of the fab four...Saurav and are still struggling to match Saurav. Heaven help us when Dravid and Sachin call it quits. It is going to be a really really long way to re-building the middle order.

You are absolutely right. Whatever one may say, it will be extremely difficult to replace Dravid, Sachin and Laxman. Unfortunately, there are some people (whom we call sachin bashers) who always criticise Sachin. However, I have observed that cricketing greats (Bradman, Lara, Waugh, Akram, Warne etc. to name a few) have always spoken good about Sachin.
Sorry for u team India, where u should have taken the lead of around 150 or 200 & u have conceaded the lead & hoping to turn the things around from here & win ????
No chance team India, to be a winner, u need to be at your best.
In the first test at Kotla, Delhi against WI, India conceded a lead of 95 runs to bowl them out for 180 runs in the second essay. Scored the 276 to win the test.
Again at MCG in the 1st test, they conceded 50 odd runs lead to the Australians. Will Nov 9th repeat on Dec 29th?
Am I too optimistic and blind supporter of the Indian team?

Whilst I share all your optimism, this is not an Indian pitch we are used to, and Aus is not WI.

Kotla and MCG are two differnt things. In my opinion, unless Dravid or Laxman keeps on going from one end ( Sachin rarely does well in both innings of a Test Match. Either he scores in first inning or in second), it will be very difficult to chase more than 250 on fourth day MCG pitch

Sehwag is a genius. He should be left alone with his unique brand of stroke-making. But he needs a good foil who will bring sanity to the proceedings while the Sehwag pyrotechnics is going on. I feel Wasim Jaffer should have been in Australia as an opener. He has got the technique to combat genuine fast bowling and is a good 'horizontal shots' player. Gambhir, I feel is quite fidgety and does not give us a sense of comfort while at the crease. Hanging out the bat to away-swingers is not a great way to survive in Australia.

Sehawag, Gautam, Dhoni all 3 are total failure as they just talk but they forget what is their basic duty to batsman!

Sehwag will fail as always in the second innings. He is a first innings wonder and a zero in the second innings.
