why srt again & again missing the 100th ton
by venkateswaran venkateswaran on Dec 27, 2011 05:33 PM  | Hide replies

I am a true follower of cricket & an ardent fan of srt. It really pains me to see srt again losing an golden opportunity to score that elusive 100. My sincere request to all fans & media especially is that dont put undue pressure on srt by focussing only on that 100. It only adds excess pressure on srt making it difficult for him to reach that landmark. He will silently reach that landmark if there is no outside pressure

Those who have played cricket even in School or College (not just a follower of Cricket) would know what it is to BAT, more particularly to score a hundred. We are in a state illusion. Sachin has passed that age, that alertness. It is fortunate that he is able to "bat" and score runs. To include a "genius" just for the elusive hundredth hundred is atrocious to say the least. BCCI, the Selection Committee, the media, the fans should "learn" to think of our country first. How wonderful it would be if instead of Sachin we had selected a promising, young, talented batsman!!!

Professor saab, 73 runs in a situation of 99/2 is not looking like bitter guard for you. Right?

Shows that Sachin is unreliable
by rsjr on Dec 27, 2011 05:29 PM  | Hide replies

Dravid and VVS are the guys we can count on for wins. Sehwag to set up the games for us and Sachin can be trusted only to fill his pockets through advertisements.

In a match like this, even Ishant 20 also look great. And Sachin 73 is not a bad score at all. You guys think Sachin is only for adding centuries. Change your mind.

A masterclass by a legend...lets enjoy...forget the hundred
by praveen rao on Dec 27, 2011 05:26 PM  | Hide replies

Anyone watching Sachin today had to know that there was a masterclass in action. Against some serious pace bowling in the 145-153 kmph range consistently from both ends, and Dravid having a terrible time against Pattinson but holding on bravely, Sachin rolled back the years to put on an absolute masterclass....the most telling moment was when he placed one boundary to perfection between the third slip and gully. Almost all the Aussies held their heads in frustration except Ponting who nearly clapped in awe....but then held back and turned away. Sachin was clearly frustrating and wowing the Aussies. It takes one legend to recognize the diffciulty of that shot by another. The way Dravid and Sachin talked each other out of the absolute barrage of speed bombs was a sight to watch. It took all their experience to combat that pace. Reciprocally it was almost as if Siddle and Pattinson were inspired by the presence of two legends. I saw Siddle and Pattinson against the Kiwis and they were no where close to remotely as hostile. Thats the greatest tribute an opposition can pay you....to borrow a thought from Jack Nicholson's line from As Good As It Gets....The two greats forced the Aussie pair to elevate their pace bowling to the next level. Who cares about Sachin's hundred ? Seriously I dont care when Sachin gets it anymore...batting like todays is like vintage wine...lets just savour it stroke by stroke and hope the bottle of his genius never ends.

sachin's failure in getting his mahashatak.
by pramod shendye on Dec 27, 2011 04:46 PM  | Hide replies

sachine onceagain failed to achieve this goal. i think (alongwith many others) that sachin has lost his confidence within himself. he may achieve this goal in near future, but presently he is under tremendous pressure for the century that is why he is missing it again and again.

Sachin gets older while scoring runs hence may miss out tonne by not concentrating much. He should take some life enhanement drugs to overcome this jinx

and have to capitalize on that. A hundred from Dravid or Laxman and few fifty to get a 150 lead. That will trouble Ausis.
