With concerns about Ishant's fitness, the news from the recent Indian domestics matches is of 27 year old TP Sudhindra. In the recently concluded drawn match against Haryana, TP Sudhindra takes a 10 wicket haul.
TP Sudhindra, is the only bowler in domestic FC who is listed on the Cricinfo profile as Right Arm Fast. Bowlers like Ishant, Zaheer, Yadav and Aaron are listed as fast-medium.
Is Sudhindra quicker than everyone else ? His eco rate is impressive as well. He was picked in the recent Challenger series for the red team and did very well.
His record so far is:
23 mtch, 98wkts @ 21.5 eco rate=2.48 SR=51.8
Takes a wicket every 7.5 overs and a superb eco rate for a bowler who is Right Arm Fast
Why was'nt he picked for the Indian team ? Well age could be a concern, but still has 4-5 years left in him and India could have used him.
Another factor could be the plate leagues may have inflated his average. We did not have this problem with Umesh Yadav from Vidharba as long as you have pace.
I think the selectors should fly him over to Australia as a replacement before the 2nd warm up tour game on Dec 19 and have him play that. He could be available if not for the 1st Test but can be ready and acclimatised for the 3rd or 4th Test.
Rohit Sharma might have got a gazillion runs against a miserable West Indian attack in Indian conditions but he will bomb against Australia. Virat has the better attitude to play cricket.

Agreed, Rohit Sharma has hardly been consistent for a 6 month period so far in his career despite all the hype. Virat is a success, and I think if he plays until 38 like this he will break Sachin's ODI number of runs by the time he retires. Not sure about his test career though.

Check the Rohit’s record against Aussies in VB series. Again in Caribbean rohit did better in one day then virat . While virat was total flop in Test series. Look at the practice game even saha did well then virat. Rohit is in sublime touch . It will be crime to leave him out from playing 11.

Okay the selector..then why have you sent Dhoni on tour itself..?? And how can you select a captain in the mid of a tour..?
