You mean you wish for this. But they might have other plans. Of coz you have your impeccable logic of judging a team by their first match even when there is data against such judgement. Good luck.

Agree... this is just the first match. And the whole point being that our bowlers should get used to the conditions before the actual tests... you are spot on - not to take this as the be all and end all of the whole series...

Hmmmmm... and Aussies won a test series in India... Plus a 2-4 ODI win with a team that was already being ridiculed...
Anyway, these things can never be generalized sweepingly...
Well, Ishant decided to pull off for pre-cautionary reasons and it was Mithun and Vinay who bowled most of the overs in addition to Ohja. None of these will feature in the main stream attack.
The good news is Yadav continues his run from what he had left off in India. With Zaheer and Yadav the Australia top order is suspect they should be able to get some early wickets.
The 20 Australian wickets are going to be tough for India in the first Test, it will be the same for Australia to bowl out India.
It is likely that it could end up being a close draw and either team should be able to save the match.
Australia could play a waiting game and try to win the series in Test3/Test4 because of the wear and tear of Indian bowlers over the stretch of 8 innings.
Vinay Kumar has pace around 81-85 mph and is quite accurate, so we might see some action from him later in the series.
