Ishant presence is important..

After the last WI tour when he was the man of the series, his performance declined in England and India.

The series against WI at home he appeared jaded which is normally does after a greulling overseas tour. Ishant has bowled quite a bit in India and has been carrying the team on his young shoulders in Test matches.

Zaheer and Sreesanth have been around on and off as a result most of the wicket taking burden has been on him. Being a veteran of 41 Tests at only 23 years of age is quite remarkable.

This selection is automatic and is quite a consistent performer in comparison. Zaheer's injuries and Yadav's inexperience makes his appearance in this Test very important.

Ishant since his debut has bowled 60-70 % of the time in the sub-continent hence still averages 35 @ 128 wickets, but is till better than Fidel Edwards any many international seamers who bowl in friendlier conditions.

Overall we are anxious to see him bowl again in the tour of Australia.

Ishaant Sharma has been a failure in Eng and against WI.It doesn't make any difference if he plays or not, however he is zillion times better than Vinay Kumar or Mithun. The AUS wickets should suit him well, however he is not a threat.

Correct. Only experienced and canny bowlers like Zaheer can make a difference. The faster you bowl, the faster you will go to the fence. This is what happened to all touring team fast bowlers like Steyn, Waqar, etc when they toured. The guys who had tremendous success were the Walsh, Bresnan,McGrath type of bowlers. Even Agarkar got a 6 for in one of the tests.
