With concerns about Ishant's fitness, the news from the Indian domestics is of 27 year old TP Sudhindra. In the recently concluded drawn match against Haryana, TP Sudhindra takes a 10 wicket haul.
TP Sudhindra, is the only bowler in domestic FC who is listed on the cricinfo profile as right arm fast. Bowlers like Ishant, Zaheer, Yadav and Aaron are listed as fast-medium.
Is Sudhindra quicker than everyone else ? His eco rate is impressive as well. He was picked in the recent Challenger series for the red team and did very well.
His record so far is:
23 mtch, 98wkts @ 21.5 eco rate=2.48 SR=51.8
Takes a wicket every 7.5 overs and a superb eco rate for a bowler who is Right arm Fast
Why was'nt he picked for the Indian team ? Well age could be a concern, but still has 4-5 years left in him and India could have used him.
Another factor could be the plate leagues may have inflated his average. We did not have this problem with Umesh Yadav from Vidharba as long as you have pace.
I think the selectors should fly him over to Australia as a replacement before the 2nd warm up tour game on Dec 19 and have him play that. He could be available if not for the 1st Test but can be ready and acclimatised for the 3rd or 4th Test.
The Indian team has just landed and the warmup match was meant to get them adapted. This meant that they were just going through the motions.
I not sure if you can judge them so soon. Both Australia and India though dont look like have a bowling attack to take 20 wickets at an average of 30 or below.
It will take one bad innings from either side to lose. The Australia top order has weaknesses but the Indian bowling attack may not be able to take advantage.
The Australian middle order can support the team if Ponting fires with Clarke and Hussey to support the middle order.
I think, the Indians will score more than 400 runs per innings and dont have any weakness plus they will less complacent than playing against teams like the WI.
Overall it is advantage to India in most probable case, unless India mentally cannot accept that they are the better team on paper.

Who can not remember him.. he is playing Ranji Now, but I think he should have been the first choice for down under series.. Remember his devastating bowling in newzealand in his debut test series oversees!!

Why should vinay & Mithun to be kick out? it is the first match and even mithun bowled economically also. We have seen your irfan pathan bowled to Polard in the last match and seen how many sixes hit to him. Please stop this type of comments.. we now that you are not likeing peoples from karnataka?

daeey vinayaka both vinay and mithun have limited ability 2 swing the ball......nor do they have the pace .....its fodder for aussie batsmen if they sppray the bowl all round the park......Without sounding pessimistic guys i just get a sinking feeling india will feel the heat and one or 2 of our bowlers mite get injured tuchwud it shudnt but the baffling part is the team management supporting these injured bufoons!!

and ishant covering up his injury is all the more pathetic as it would be more like cheating his own country

Atleast one man has remembered Dhaval Kulkarni who is a very good prospect.Similarly bhuwaneshwar kumar of up nee a look in.He bowls best out swingers in India today. But u need not drop VInay and Mithun on one showing.Viant seems to be far more talented than many.
the Indian team will definitely miss bhajji in aus tour.....aussies domestic side is hammering Indian Bowlers then wat will international side do....matter of concern for BCCI and specially SHRIKKANTH........

dude i am following ur way......u dont consider the man who has taken 400 wickets as a gud bowler....he was the man who won us the SA tour this year......he was the man who takes most crucial wickets on crucial times...u want bowler who takes wickets of crucial batsmen and give less runs or who takes normal wickets and give avg runs.......tell me MR.....its a top secret....when u dont see pasr records agains Bhajji...the y see past records against ashwin....he got mom and mos its past now..think of future...According to u all.....dude u try to see in one direction....just by getting mom and mos in 1 series can u tell he is better than bhajji....no way....

I agree Ravichandran Ashwin is a Great Talent for India, but Bhajji also is a much more Better bowler, especially in Foreign pitches where there is bounce. In India also, Bhajji does well sometimes.

My question...is Bhajji a genuine spinner first of all? When he last was able to spin the ball?

by venkatachalam govind on Dec 15, 2011 10:20 PM
out of the 400 odd wickets 150 were when he was chucking, 200 in Indian conditions and balance 50 against B'ladesh and Zimbabwae.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Missing bhajji..`
by pritpal on Dec 16, 2011 01:00 AM
dude....wat is the difference between u and those people who criticized him for chucking....when our own people are not supporting then wat to tell others....shame......and for 400 wickets....dude nobody gifts u 400wickets....u can check ur stats that most of the wickets were crucial.....and DOnt u think bangladesh as a gud team.....and Ashwin has also taken wickets in Indian Condition...let him take 200wickets in Indian Condition...then u compare him with Bhajji....
Re: Re: Re: Re: Missing bhajji..`

Ha ha ha...u said joke of the day....Bhajji not a spinner...i think u r the spinner.....
Re: Re: Missing bhajji..`
by pritpal on Dec 15, 2011 07:18 PM
but many of them are criticizing him....y??....he bowls according to the situation......if a bowler takes only 1 or 2 wicket per match and that to crucial ones and is economical than is he performing poorly......this is not right....

pritpal - BADA_CHALU_BANDA_HAI_TU.. We now know that you are indeed BHAJJI sitting and bloggin from home...;)
You take our bowlers all the way, win the toss and allow only your premier bowler to bowl only 5.3 overs. What strategy is this? Has Ishanth recreated some of his old fitness problems. Hope the same thing doesn't happen with Zaheer in the next tour game.

it looks like Ishant is suffering from some injury..before breaking anything bad, he wanted to make sure that he takes necessary treatment...
