The last Aussie 'Monkey Gate' tour
by anand datar on Dec 12, 2011 04:35 PM  | Hide replies

The last Aussie tour in 2007-08 was the most controversial tour which Aussies won 2-1 (Tests). India was almost going to cancel the tour because of Aussies' accusation of racial remarks by Harbhajan against Andrew Symonds. But India took the revenge in ODI tournament by beating the hosts in both finals. Let us hope for India's better performance in Tests this time.

...and sachin almost prevented india from going into the final by failing horribly in the league matches making 190 odd runs in 8 innings with an average of around 23 odd runs....but thanks to the batting of dhoni, yuvraj, gambhir, rohit and our fantastic bowlers we made it to the best of 3 finals where as usual like i often said sachin scored a century in the chase of 240 odd runs...where our bowlers had already put us in a winning position...rohit sharma also made 66 runs besides sachin's century...praveen kumar was mom in the other final...but as usual despite the team effort sachin fanatics will try to make up the story that we won that odi series BECAUSE of sachin...when as a pointed out he was a disaster in the league matches YET we made it to the finals and he scored his century only when our bowlers had bowled aussies out at a modest total...but sachin fanatics are trying to give the credit to the aussie odi series win because of a couple of innings from sachin and as usual having long-time memory loss of other 10 players' performances and donating the credits of their performances to sachin as usual (for 22 years these fanatics are doing that and they will continue doing it till sachin plays)...:)

if sachin scores in finals but not in league matches , its problem, if he scores in league matches not in finals its a problem, then why don't you go and play in place of Sachin ?

if sachin fails in finals you say it was because of him we reach finals. if he fails in league matches you say we won because of him in finals. why do always find excuses for him and degrade performances of other 10 players always? why dont you go and play in place of other 10 players?

I'm curious why you want Sachin to succeed ALWAYS, but the "other 10" can be more inconsistent?
Seems you are a big Sachin fan expecting the whole world from him... :)

Plz verify..! All the other batsmen & bowlers (except Indian)make their world ecord against India ..not other countries!! And Indians are always making their records in Indian pitches!! Why? They practised in indian soil and shivering and dying when go to other countries...!!

Mate, tried and tested performers like Sachin, Laxman, Dravid suffer from loosemotions, polio and paralysis when they face quality opponents. Asian team are worse in all three forms and neck deep in match fixing.

All teams world over are strong performers in their home country. What is so bad in being good at performing in your own contry. Indiain batsmen are trained on Indian ptiches hence they are best on these kind of pitches. Aus, SA,& Eng struggle against asian Teams whene playing in asian sub-continent. So India going weak in other countries is not a dead end.

Aussie tour.....
by Ajay Dev Singh on Dec 12, 2011 03:36 PM  | Hide replies

will be remembered as honeymoon trip for Gambhir and Ashwini. The tour will be last nail in coffin for Sachin, Laxman, Dravid. These shameless are not announcing their retirement. Had been they faced quality pace attack for net practice during England series, result would have been different. Indian team love to face spinners in net practice, showing their gutter level preparation.

Dravid & to some extent Laxman are still okay for test cricket.

For Sachin, it looks his days in cricket are numbered.

Sachin should retire from ODI & give way for youngsters.

well, did you even see the England series? if you did, you would have removed Dravid's name from your rant.. And probably included Dhoni, Raina etc.

England tour was a shame and I hope our players have learned a lesson or two from that. They have to prove that they are world class by performing in Australia...!

Please let me know how many seires(test or one day whatever) India have won so far in abroad? Indians are making world records only in Indian soil! Outside grounds they are worse than Kenya or Zimbawe!! World cup is also an example...If it had ben done outside India..they would have een kicked out from Quarter finals....If any doubts...just watch the upcoming matches in freign countries,....

When Australia lost 9 wickets and then Warner started hitting fours, NZ's Ian Smith on commentary for Channel 9:
"There is one person missing in all this William Morris Lawry"His commentary on this game would have been superb as always.
Bill is back for MCG test vs India and Ian Smith is happy and will listen, sadly Indian Viewers will be cruelly denied that privilege by those on ESPN Star cricket.Shameful
