sadly these commentators from channel 9 along with Bill Lawry (the most entertaining of all)will never be heard when India tour Aus as Espn always are bent on giving viewers horrible commentary from their own bunch plus really eye soring graphics.
Even the neo sports graphics are much better

I don't agree, channel 9 commentary is ridiculously biased and one sided compared to ESPN. Tony Greig used to be fair but now he just cant stop praising Aussie team even when they are losing.

the guys like Slater and Healy are biased heavily and a torture with their ball by ball comments plus slater loves his own voice so he talks non stop.
but the veterans Benaud Lawry Greig and chappell call it like it is.
Greig is South african by birth and do not expect him to back Kiwis!

Are they more biased than Indians I doubt, Also the kind of insights they give I hardly hear our experts give, Healy can be a bit biased agreed, but check out how Tony Greig defended Harbhajan on India's previous tour, also Ravi,Sunil & Co are bland & not at all entertaining, As for Slats it is the differnt hues & colors that you enjoy, every member of the team being different, Richi-Sombre, Nicholas-Melliflous,Chappel-Forthright,Slater-Effervescent, Lawry-Fast- Talking,Greig-Passionate,Healy-can be a bit nonsense but you cant discount others because of him & sometimes too provides valuable insights into how a cricketer thinks.

I firmly believe that even the worst of them - Ian Healy - is much much better than those loud-mouthed shnooks such as Gavaskar, Shastri, Bhogle, Ganguly, Sivaramakrishnan (goodness me...!!!), Arun Lal, Charu Sharma etc...

whenever India visits we have to hear shastri, sunil, bhogle whining. Oh it will be a privelage to get to hear Lawry,Beanud,Nicholas, Grieg & co, alas we will not -to watch a series in Australia without channel 9 commentators is a curse

Well anupam i fully agree with you fully on this one.
I wrote to them to at least provide highlights from channel 9 feed and since they have 3 channels they can show it from 9 but no avail as they will send their own pathetic comm. you mentioned above
Exception:No Harsha on Star cricket now.

New generation batsman have no clue to swing bowling
by pradeep agarwal on Dec 12, 2011 06:48 PM

This match showed how most countries now boast batsman who perform only when wicket is docile & ball is not moving. The debacle in England where our so called greats failed to even put up a fight & now the aussies crumbling 4th time in last 4 test matches confirms this.I feel that our batsman may once again find going tough as wickets in down under will be lively with ball moving much more than past due to wet spell.
Congrats to Kiwis for great win. They have found a god bowler finally in Bracewell
