Dissent for umpire's decision
by Time Pass on Dec 06, 2011 01:58 PM  | Hide replies

It was Virat Kohli who showed dissent...hence the media and the public, including ppl in this forum are not making a mountain out of a mole hill. Had it been a foreign player, particularly a Paki or an Aussie, the Indian media would have written pages about it and this forum would have filled with abusive messages.

Its better Indian cricketers look upto ppl like Sachin, Kumble, Dravid etc. to accept any decision gracefully. We still remember how Sachin walked off silently after being given out 'shoulder before wicket' by Steve Bucknor off the bowling of McGrath.

first of all it was not bucknor who gave Sachin out @ adelaide 1999 .It was Harper
second that was out even though it looked tough at first.
Agree with rest of what you said.

Dissapointing

i'm the craziest sachin fan and it hurts to see the behaviour of virat kohli on field,
i mean kohli says, sachin is his idol and use abusive words like MC, BC doesn't match his respect to the legand....
tendulkar got out 28 times in 90s and many times he's given out wrongly (does anyone forgot when sachin given out LBW when got hit on helmet and ball is going almost 1 foot above stumps) but he walks off calmly.....
kohli is impressive youngster,
he got 8 centuries in 70 games while sachin got his first century after 70 games......
but this attitude (MC, BC) won't gave him respect he deserved......
being aggressive is good but it should be with bat not verbally.....

Dear Vasant..Lets not compare behaviour of two different personalities..both are right..The problem is match fixing..Earlier it was done by fixing the players..then there was a time when empires were fixed (just my guess..if i recall some matches the decisions of empires were dubious)..

The problem is sometimes one wrong decision can cost a match..Why not to play a match with fairness..Lets give powers to third empire so he can review each and every decision by field empire..If he finds the decision given by field empire is wrong..he can reverse the decision..

then nobody can fix the match..The matches will be played in most honest way..no complains...no cheating

Please dont compare between different personalities. If Sachin is like that, then how about Punter? Hasnt he made a name in cricket world with his swearing and abuse? The main point is if you are contributing or not, to team's cause.Kohli is a promising cricketer and he was determined yesterday to make a big contribution and was clearly dissapointed to be given out like that. If you see the replays of the dismissal, the offstump and middle stump were visible and the ball hit the rightmost side of the pad.How on earth is that LBW?

I agree Dinesh, what Virat or someone else speak in the field has nothing to do with anyone but himself(be it Sachin/anyone). Vasant's statement does not make much sense (though I am a fan of Sachin, I disagree to what Vasant has said regarding matching respect to Sachin). It is justified for Kohli to be frustrated after he was wrongly judged out, afterall he is still a young player..... But a 5-match ban/stringent action WILL force him to reduce verbal aggression.....

kohli is right
by Swapnil K on Dec 06, 2011 01:54 PM

kohli is right, he wasnt out. raina too was not out. had this been done by a aussie, s.a. or eng player, he wudnt hv been fined or banned. this is always done agaisnt the sub continent players. the umpires should be fined for giving a wrong desicion..

KOHLI'S BEHAVIOUR DISAPPOINTING
by damodaran mohan on Dec 06, 2011 01:32 PM

The most promising upcoming cricketer along with Rohit Sharma his behaviour is really disappointing. In fact it looked to be correct decision. It is better he Learns and emulate personality traits of seniors like Sachin,Dravid,Kumble etc. if he really aspires to be stars like them.
