Sehwag;s Obsession !
by jegadeesan durai on Dec 06, 2011 03:48 PM

Sehwag is obsessed with bowling first and in all the three matches he has done the same thing citing dew. The spinners will get good turn in the evening rather than in the sunny first session. Batting also difficult while chasing due to pressure. India's strength is batting hence Dhoni normally bats first and if things go well the team can revise the target from time to time. With good total on the board & tight bowling / fielding team has good chance of winning mainly the batsmen are not under pressure. This may work well in indian flat wickets. In bouncy wickets it is always to bowl first and restrict the team to a lower total. Why Sehwag is not aware of this simple fact ?

I disagree with the choice of man of the match. Why Rampaul? His wicket of Raina was a umpiring Blunder.instead Rohit Sharma was the deserving candidate. He played Sublime cricket but unfortunately was on losing side.Had he survived that run out and guided India to victory would Rampaul got the Award?Whoever chose the candidate made a great mistake.

Vasant, Sorry the "ifs" and "buts" wont work here. Ravi's bowling was sublime and the delivery to Gambhir was a gem. Also, the one to dismiss Mithun was special, considering that he was hit for 2 boundaries and thus under pressure. Also, Rohit's innings was patchy - he was dropped twice. Also, by your logic, shouldnt Ravi be awarded the MoM in the last match for that World record innings?

Hope you maintain the same form in the series vs Aus.

India's Flag will continue to fly Sky high Down under as long as you exhibit the same prowess as you are showing like yesterday.

Everybody knows that Sehwag and Gambir is one of the best opening pairs. Why Parthiv is opening with Sehwag. Instead he can bat at no.3. May be this will work out positively for India. Also, Raina should come after Jadeja. No other change required.

Raina is completely out of sorts and must be dropped with Sehwag, Gambhir & Parthiv.

Selectors should pick Sachin, Ajinkya Rahane, Wriddhiman Saha & Murali Vijay in these places.

Raina is capable and a proven batsman. But he is out of form now, can come back strongly in another two odis. I agree for Sachin. Other are not worth a place now, specially saha got many opportunities in the past. But failed.

Shame of Indian cricketers
by Jose Sucorinho Antao on Dec 06, 2011 01:21 PM

I can understand that the Indians could not deliver on English soil agains the quality English side but we white washed them at home in a recent series. But the Indian top order has not performed for three one day matches in a row and that too famed line up like shewag and Gambhir, and against a toothless west indies bowling, I say toothless comparing it to the times when bowlers like Malcolm Marshall, Joel Garner, Andy Roberts, Courtney walsh and Curtly ambrose formed a power - packed force that could send shivers against even the top quality batsman of the world.
