I'd say, Ishant is in fact lucky to have played these many matches for India without displaying any exceptional talent. Even my detractors would agree that, a reasonable bowler (I mean, an average bowler) is expected to have taken 4 wickets per test match and 1.5 wickets per ODIs and at least, 1 per a T20. Ishant doesn't even have a strike rate of 3 wickets per test match and why is he still there in the radar bemuses me. Ishant doesn't have that (4 wkts/match) strike rate even in first class matches. We're only wasting precious time and match experience for deserving bowlers like Dinda / Varun trying this man again and again. If height is the criteria that's getting him selection, you can find many taller than him and if u teach them the art of fast bowling, they'll sure become a lot better. Do not invest any more hopes on Ishant and let hime earn selection by working hard and doing exceptionally at the domestic level.
you can add all indian pace bowlers in the list except very few like Javagal Srinath, Ishanth, Sresanth, Umesh Yadav..all others like Manoj Prabhakar, Balaji, Kuruvilla, all Kumars, singhs etc are all shade faster than Kumble.

The feat made him the second Australian quick in successive Tests to take five or more wickets on debut after teenager Pat Cummins claimed 6-79 against South Africa last month
It is bit intriguing not find the name of Ojha in the so-called 7 bowling wonders of 2011, I think he has done better than Ashwin in difficult situations against the touring team when we didnot have any clue how to get breakthrough, Why the list cannot be 8 wonders with Ojha taking a better place than Ashwin at least if not others, what are the criteria for such a selection?

Sarandeep Singh was a better bowler than Harbhajan Singh. This was said by none other than EAS Prasanna. Sourav Ganguly for reasons best known to him, never liked him. He forced his selection into the team to tour West Indies in 2002. Ganguly was forced to play him in the first test, treated him like dirt. He let the poor boy realize that he was not wanted there. On a dead track, where Kumble managed two wickets, Sarandeep took one wicket in half as many overs, and was never selected again. Harbhajan though was always a very ordinary bowler, and his 22 wickets in the home series against Australia is a mystery even he cannot solve. He kept his place by keeping first Ganguly and later Tendulkar in good humor, until his performance became too shoddy to be ignored. Lucky guy. These things happen, you know. Not everyone gets what he deserves. That is life.

Ajit Agarkar was most talented of the lot. He forced his way into the national team on the strength of his performance in Juniors grade. He was genuinely talented, and could bowl @ 90 mph when he wanted to, despite his lanky frame. He somehow did not seem to have much faith in his own abilities, and could never quite understand what was desired of him. The Team Management too, failed to help him settle down, and Agarkar was always seen struggling. Who can forget his 6/41 at Adelaide in 2003-04?
