Ajit Agarkar was most talented of the lot. He forced his way into the national team on the strength of his performance in Juniors grade. He was genuinely talented, and could bowl @ 90 mph when he wanted to, despite his lanky frame. He somehow did not seem to have much faith in his own abilities, and could never quite understand what was desired of him. The Team Management too, failed to help him settle down, and Agarkar was always seen struggling. Who can forget his 6/41 at Adelaide in 2003-04?

you can add all indian pace bowlers in the list except very few like Javagal Srinath, Ishanth, Sresanth, Umesh Yadav..all others like Manoj Prabhakar, Balaji, Kuruvilla, all Kumars, singhs etc are all shade faster than Kumble.
Here are the 7 fast bowling wonders of the century, maybe alltime.
1. Venkatesh Prasad - ball took 2 minutes to reach batsman.(even Australia wanted to make him bowling coach (sic) 2. Madan Lal - ran as fast as carl Lewis in his bowling run-up 3. Balwinder Singh Sandhu 4. Praveen Kumar 5. Vinay Kumar 6. Abhinav Mithun 7. S Aravind
Can someone putup a list of 7 Wonder spinners of the century?

What about Rahul Sharma's debut ? Though he didn't get a 'five'er he impressed everyone !

yes u r wrong bcs author is talking about debutant and it means player playing the first match/series do u know that
The quality of the Aussie next gen bowling implies that Aussies would be back to the top spot pretty soon. Botham was saying that England could be no. 1 for next five years. Ajmal would be making them dance in January in the gulf.
//There was talk in New Zealand media about the inexperience of Australia's pace attack and how the Kiwi batsmen would feast on it. But came the first Test in Brisbane and the 21-year-old pacer had different plans.//
there is no such thing as 'kiwi batsmen would feast on young attack' . I have never seen in last 60 years even once Australia introducing a 'weak' bowler. All were professional, competitive bowlers. Few left in years. But most dominated the pitch for decades.
