tour of SA, world cup, IPL, tour of WI, tour of eng, ODI series against eng, the present series against WI, tour of AUS to follow..this was our schedule from the start of the year till date.
out of these, IPL, ODI vs eng, is a waste of time for the players(i am excluding the money aspect)..but whats in store for the spectators? we need our team to perform well in international matches and not in meaningless tours like IPL and 7 ODIs against eng...
Make merry till India plays at home because this team is going to be massacred on the Austrlian tour. Sachin has to wait now because Aussies won't allow him to get a ton just lke that on their home turf. Furthermore, his form has dipped dramatically after the world cup win on home turf...

he got 2 centuries in SA in diff conditions! the problem is when SRT bats the pitch does not look difficult to us! remember 96 semi final vs SL? till sachin was there pitch was good! After he went ...... we know what happened

wrong, it is sehwag who makes difficult conditions look easy. the score may be 20 for 4 and pitch may be at its worst and mcgrath, steyn or murali may be bowling...it makes no difference to sehwag...in this scenario he can still make a century with 80 strike rate...sachin makes difficult conditions look impossible conditions...sometimes he even makes easy conditions look very difficult!
as for his 2 centuries in sa they came under easy conditions...in the same series when conditions were difficult he failed horribly...take for example first test first innings first day...pitch was its fastest and conditions were helping bowlers...steyn and co. bundled out india in about 150 runs..what did sachin do? he failed of course! when the conditions were bad, bowlers were good and fresh, and early wickets had fallen...this time sehwag, gambhir, dravid had failed...sachin also could not do much and left early...in second innings despite a 400 plus lead the conditions were easier, bowlers a bit tired, and though pressue was there at beginning of innings due to huge lead our openers gave a century partnership, sehwag, gambhir and dravid played well making 80, 63 and 40 odd runs, sachin now could breath easier because of the platform given, bowlers tiring and also the calming presence of captain cool dhoni at the other end who made 90 runs...only in such conditions did sachin score his century...

in the 2nd test the pitch was fast and we won...yet sachin failed in both innings...it was because of laxman and dhoni batting and our wonderful bowlers that we won....the 2nd century sachin hit was also when condtions were easier than in the first two tests and the match ended in a draw...
as to the 96 semifinal it was only after the pitch started to get worse that he got out...till it was ok he played well...in fact as soon as the pitch got worse he failed to a horrible shot...he got out in a horrible and ugly fashion...

Seems like You have got all you centuries in difficult situations and difficult pitch. Phew ! Why so critical of someone who is a national icon. Even Bradman admired his brillance as a bastman.
