All MRF camp, etc should be trashed off. Dhoni is starting a cricketing camp. I request BCCI to send everyone there so that all others can come up like Dhoni.

sack them!

As long as the selection committee tries to satisfy region and religion based quota systems, Team India can only go down further in stature. It's bemusing to see people still harping on Irfan's inclusion in the team. In fact, such talks about Yusuf Pathan might sound more reasonable. It's time, non performers however great they're must be shown exit doors. Players like, Harbhajan have become liability to the team. `wonder how many more series the selectors would give Sachin to realise his 100th ton? To add to the woes, media too tries its best to play spoilsport by trying its bit in making and breaking a player's career with vested interests. Let the team be selected on a player's current stats and form and not based on the past laurels. Giving complete freedom to Dhoni in team selection can only worsen the situation further. Lesser players like (who bowls at 120 kmph at the age of 25 itself) RP Singh etc., only would get a look in and talent will be ignored.

LOL!! Another example is Irfan pathan. Before selecting some fast bowler, Dhoni being the captain should stand behind the stumps, check the speed of the bowler whether the ball is thudding to him or it is coming on bounce. Mithun was mentioned he bowls consistently at 140KMPh but i never saw him crossing 130 & in Westindies, i think Harbhajan was more quicker :)

1 DAY Vs. OTHER Cricket FORMAT....
by Ding Dong on Aug 26, 2011 06:56 PM  | Hide replies

I agree with Karsan Ghavri and Others who productively trying to contribute to CRICKET. Other than BCCI. They must learn to work with others.

It seems the current day players (Which could be as far as Tendulkar also) are out of touch with the LONG FORMAT OF Cricket, which had been the only one in the PAST YEARS (A generation back!!).

The reason could be because of 1 Day has gained immense popularity over the other because there is more MONEY for EVERYONE (Players, Businessmen and the Government - BCCI specially).

At this time I feel BCCI has gone overboard with 1 DAYERS (IPL) for MONEY at the cost of Cricket the Game. There should be a reasonable modulation. We should take a leaf from England's preparation to thrash us this time.

Bottom line: No one can take any thing for granted. DEDICATION and SELF DISCIPLINE are some key factors to success. Does not matter who you are.

Coming to the next part the above discussion, Below are the must do items.

* BCCI must be governed by people who has proven records and experience DIRECTLY in CRICKET, like Gavaskar, M Amarnath, Kapil Dev and other successful cricketer from the past. NO REGIONAL LEVEL CATEGORIZATION.

* Team selection MUST be at NATIONAL LEVEL, NOT REGIONAL LEVEL. THE BEST GETS SELECTED. It's a big Joke India a country of a BILLION cannot have good 22 cricket Players.

* BCCI should encourage young player to play and gain exposure in County Cricket and others.

BCCI is busy counting money.
by Kanapadi Giridhar on Aug 26, 2011 05:10 PM

Hello Mr. Ghavri- Nice of you to be doing good work by keeping the interests of the Indian cricket in mind. Sadly, BCCI is chasing money as a typical Indian baniya would do. People that are associate with the board such as Rajiv Shukla, Ratnakar Shetty, Srinivsan very much resemble a racing syndicate betting on the Indian cricketers. They absolutely lack professionalism, vision, scientific thinking, the very expertise about the nuances of cricket, leave alone the welfare of the Indian cricket. They don't dare to question mediocrity in Indian cricket as they are mediocre themselves. Rajiv Shukla of the three looks like a pan chewing average street guy without any sophistication required for a leader of one of the richest sports bodies in the world. These will be tolerated only in India and they just have no place in countries like USA or UK. Let the world laugh at us and let's continue to be shameless.

Krishna
