Ashwin is better than Harbhajan
by srinivas ns on Aug 24, 2011 04:52 PM  | Hide replies

Ashwin has not been picked by Dhoni even though he is a much better player than Harbhajan. Is there some political game going on ? Ashwin is only picked for CSK in the IPL. CSK won the IPL twice only because of some excellent bowling by Ashwin and Bollinger. Even if Ashwin is in the squad he is not given a chance to be in the playing 11 for India.

DHONI & HARBHAJAN SHOULD BE AXED FROM TEST CRICKET. Parthiv Patel and R Ashwin should replace them respectively.

Why single out Dhoni?
by rohit mukkawar on Aug 24, 2011 04:22 PM  | Hide replies

Why Dhoni? whole team needs rest... I think we ourselves got tired of Watching cricket continuously for such a long period. Starting from series with SA and then with SL and then the World Cup and the IPL and then the WI tour....
Hope the cash rich BCCI shuns some income for the betterment of Indian cricket... Such shameful losses would only harm Indian cricket and its fans...

India - Three Sides
by Balakrishna on Aug 24, 2011 03:45 PM

India should think of fielding three different sides for three different forms of cricket - Test Cricket, Oneday Cricket and 20s.
With the kind of cricket being played throughout the year no player can sustain the pressure for longer periods both physically and mentally, though Dhoni seems to be very strong on both parameters.

Possible Solutions
by Prashant Shenoy on Aug 24, 2011 03:36 PM  | Hide replies

1. Improve players' fitness and get the bench strength right.
2. Bring in young players and encourage them. Let them accompany the team wherever the matches are, so that they can learn quickly.
3. Get atleast 1-2 genuine all rounders like Shane Watson, Flintoff, Kallis. All test playing nations, except India, have atleast one genuine all-rounder. Now don't call Sehwag or Yuvraj/Raina as all rounders. They are not.
4. Induct atleast 2 really fast bowlers with good fitness, who can consistently bowl at 145-150 kmph.
5. Prepare bouncing/swinging/seaming pitches in India for all domestic matches. This way, even batsmen of the next era will not face difficulty in facing South African/English conditions.
6. There should be a gap of atleast 1 month between IPL and any series (be it home or away).

The above list is only indicative and not exhaustive. An exhaustive list cannot be prepared, as everyone in India have their own view. This is mine.

Excellant assessment. However, BCCI will always have money making (Broadcast rights & IPL) as top priority and nothing is gonna change.

FIRST DHONE SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM CAPTAINCY
by subrata banerjee on Aug 24, 2011 03:15 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is not a good follower of copy book crickt and for this he is lacking cricket sense which is an important to a captain. History of cricket have seen many good captains played tests with their best ability of their captaincy but their own performance on the ground was pathetic. But still they are remembered as one the grates in the history of cricket. Neither Dhoni is having cricket sense nor his performane remain high, rather he showed extremely bad performance in all departsments, be it captaincy, be it batsmanshi, or at the time of wicket keeping.
HE MUST BE DROPPED FROM THE TEAM AND NEW TALENTED WICKET KEEPER (IT IS A SPECIALISED ZONE, AND SELECTORS CAN NOT COMPROMISE)SHOUOLD COME AND A NEW CAPTAIN WHO IS INTELLIGENT TO READ THE GAME SHOULD BE PICKED UP.

He is captain cool because-
1. India win or loose-He will make money through international matches and IPL and brand ambassador.
2. He has no control over the team.
3. He has no captaincy brain.Only luck.
4. He knows how to manage media and board other than cricket.
5. He knows public will forget this series after some days.
6. He knows how to push his near & dears in the team.

Give him a break forever
