Where is too much?
by Ramdas Nayak on Sep 14, 2011 10:26 AM

I wonder how do they say too much cricket. Sachin, Laxman, Sehwag,Yuvraj Gambhir and Zaheer were rested from West Indies tour and had relaxed holidays back in India but still they complain of too much cricket. In fact 'God' Tendulkar had excellent holiday in England with family during his team's encounter with West Indies. If the above named players failed in England it must be because 'too much rest' and not 'too much cricket'. With so much of earnings even without a match to play cricketers can not complain of too much cricket as that is their job. No one stops them from retiring from playing cricket. In no other field people complain about too much work and even if they complain no one cares. Then why cricket?

Those who are against IPL

I have seen lot of guys commenting about indian players opting for IPL than other international matches because of money in IPL... Let me ask, how many of you guys from this list who comments leave your current employer only becasue of money? you guys also give preference to money, who pays more you will go and join... So let us not talk abt Indian players who also want to make money... Boss this is a profession, so its about playing and making money

You are correct but who created IPL and why? BCCI has responsibility of maintaining the best possible Indian Cricket team for international cricket. That is the primary mandate of BCCI and not to earn money. If the mandate of BCCI had been to earn 10000 Crore every year to finance Govt's budget deficit, what you said might make sense. But if BCCI's actions (creating IPL) are deteriorating the level of India's national team, that needs to be corrected. If BCCI stops IPL, players will have no choice but to play their best for national team.

When I leave my job to work for someone else, I dont let millions of Indians down. When the so called Indian Team prefers to play in Private Tournaments for MONEY versus National Duty - Then they let the entire nation down for the sake of a few dollars.

Which British player is fit to play a T20
by Marathi Indian on Aug 24, 2011 09:09 AM  | Hide replies

Although England has won the T20 worldcup which British player other than Peterson has got talent to play in a T20. The britishers have not stayed away from IPL, the IPL stayed away from britishers

England players are IPL reject - No IPL franchise wanted to bid for any England player other than Ravi Bopara or Kevin Pietersen - K.Peitersen was hyped and Mr Sicknote just played one or two games at the cost of USD 150,000 he was bought for - what poor value for money!!

Who cares for Time-wasting monotonous Test Crciket, any way?India&All poor countries MUST ban Test Cricket& 3 day macthes forever&Play ONLY T20 matches so that millions of man or woman hours are NOT lost watching monotonous Test cricket& 3 day macthes, etc. It is possible. This game of cricket lasting many days was invented by British looters like inventing british double agent mahatma gandhee& dirty trick of non-violence, to fool people of colonies& to make them lazy&morrrons FOREVER too by addciting them with all types of dirty tricks. BCCI& rulers are still behaving as slaves of Westerners, shame they have appointed white skinned westerners as coach, etc paying millions of dollars though we have excellent indian coaches like jimmy amarnath, madan lal,etc who can do better jobs than foreigners.BCCI& government must NOT allow more than 2 foreign players in each team&Give greater opportunity to indians.Shame that BCCI& rulers are behaving as slaves of westerners even now or are they getting huge kick-backs in the deals involving forein players, etc,Millions of cricket fans mustNOT allow our country to be looted again by foreigners&foreign agents.Hope millions of indians are listening& give justice to indian public& to national honour&pride too.

Harbajan's presence would have favoured England
by Happy Friday on Aug 24, 2011 08:29 AM  | Hide replies

I think he cleverly stopped playing as people started comparing good vs bad (swann vs bhajji). To me more than batting it was bowling that led to series washout. also there was some bad umpiring in the 4th test to make it 4-0 instead of 3-0.

Frankly 20-20 has spoiled skills .You need to bowl to save runs and not take wickets. Batsmen will make unforced errors and you get wickets . As far as batamen are concerned - in dead pitches like our BCCI officials Brains , what is needed is brute power (with Boundaries around 60 yeard even this may not be required) , you just need Hand and eye coordination to score in may 20-25 balls. The pity is it is killing talent .Finally you select teams on the basis of this stupid format to play in one day and test matches .Team India results in England are not susprising. There are many who are making tons of money and you critisize IPL you will be branded as you are enviing the money these guys are making.Harbahjan is totally spoiled bowler for Test Cricket and one day .The only plus point is since Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri are oppointed by BCCI They will sing to the BCCI tunes. The only anwer should come from Public stop watching TV and attending IPL ,Championship League etc which are a sham .Finally with so much misery and with no work many may find it a solace -so BCCI ,Brand Maketing people will make the best of it.

there are two options...
by arvin g on Aug 24, 2011 06:33 AM

either india only plya tests with countries whose main test players are part of ipl... that way they can be made to let indians score and take their wickets for fear of losing big payday...
or current indian test players should not be part of ipl...

Indians dont enjoy in England
by ManPasand Singh on Aug 24, 2011 03:33 AM

England is a dodgy country. Dodgy country and English people are grumpy old people. Who would go and play in that tiny little island. I would not be surprised if our players are not given basic amenities. English hotels are crappiest on earth. Pretty dull country. They still call it first world country. Laughable.
