SRT 100th record is most important, so fans can celebrate for yrs
by Oomshik Tooshik on Aug 24, 2011 04:31 PM  | Hide replies

Early this year in SA, the world was treated to this ludicrous spectacle. An entire nation of blind fantards and Indian media went overboard for days celebrating yet another SRT super useless record.

It was stupefying, what were these clowns thinking? For chrissake Ind got walloped badly, it was an awful humiliation. In that backdrop, to celebrate an individual record, that of a batsman that didn't even try to avoid an innings defeat?

Just shows what indian fantards value in the end. Indiv records. who cares if the team loses, and so badly. It was shameful as the world laughed at India.

Ahead of any tour, you'll hear foreign players made to praise SRT.

Need the matchwinners, not record holders.

G.Smith is lying if he said he wanted to be like SRT growing up. Actually 'players (like Tendulkar)' in Smith's comment is inserted by Rediff, cos he never said that.

No one cares abt SRT outside India. Fantards and Indian media fish for compliments abt SRT and everyday we have dumb 'stories' abt Lara, Viv Richards. G Smith supposedly praising SRT.

Come on, people. He's a indiv records specialist in a game played by 5 countries, that few outside India care about. Even there he's not considered a great by other countries.

SACHIN FAILURE

WITHOUT SACHIN CONTRIBUTION, INDIA ALWAYS FAILS TO WIN THE SERIES. ITS ONCE AGAIN PROVED, ALL PLAYERS IN MANY MATCHES MAXIMUM DEPEND ON SACHIN INNINGS. INDIAN TEAM IS ZERO WITHOUT SACHIN CONTRIBUTION. ONCE AGAIN PROVED.

Go check your stats. Most of the time in abroad wins, it has been Dravid who has led the win, not Sachin. Sachin scores loads of runs on flat pitches and the matches end as draw. Dravid has got us wins in Adelaide, Rawalpindi, Headingley, Kingston (2 times), Perth (even when in bad patch), etc.

well said. when india wins dravid batting average is above 70. when india lose, dravid batting avg. is just below 30. in foreign soil, dravid is leading scorer.

How I wish Sachin has listened to sane voices after WC
by pradeep agarwal on Aug 24, 2011 11:47 AM  | Hide replies

It was most embarrassing to watch our hero getting hit on helmet while taking his eyes off the ball or getting caught in 3rd slip time & again not moving his feet.He should have heard his body requesting to stop after WC victory to & retire after the glory.By not doing so & falling in trap laid by Sunny & Shastri who coaxed him to continue he brought shame on himself & his fans.

Yet another stupid emotional fan who relies on numbers to judge the performance. These runs were scored in incosequesial circumstances. His last inning should have ended thrice with team England not appealing once when he was stumped on 32 & dropped twice.

Touring strategy
by LOL on Aug 24, 2011 10:52 AM

After recent England debacle, I think it all boils down to the touring strategy. We have not understood a few main aspects from past performances. To help improve our performance and world ranking, we should put in place a strategy that includes....

1) Not tour SA, NZ, Eng and Aus for next 5 years atleast (or better next 8 years!) because they prepare bouncy tracks as well and our weakness is exposed already.

2) Not tour Sri lanka as they prepare spinning tracks that does not suit Indian spinners. Only Sri lankan spinners can take wickets there.

3) No one recommends touring Pak due to the political climate there. Good riddance is half the battle won.

4) We just finished the WI series. Since they will gain strength with the newer talent and the pitches in WI are known to be bouncy, simply avoid touring WI for the benefit of Indian cricket

5) So that leaves Zim, Bangladesh and of course Netherlands and Kenya! For the next 5 years if we tour just these countries, we can safely win most of the matches unless they learn the ropes quick enough and start troubling us sooner than expected! Then we will re-strategize again.

6) Of course, to compensate, true to Indian tradition we can invite every other team to India so our players can be quite comfortable playing their natural game on dead tracks!

Any takers?

by syed jawahar on Aug 24, 2011 07:59 AM  | Hide replies

A god who scores only with week teams to pile up his runs and centuries??
A cunning man who wants to play for Indian cricket for lifelong or atleast his son enters indian team for his personal gains??

He who plays only when media criticises?
he who plays only for his records and not for his country?? He who never made any runs in any crucial match. (eg -Worldcup final 2011 and many more)

i guess u started watching cricket jus recently. if u were an ardent fan of cricket u would know who indian cricket relied on from 1992 to 1999..... when there were no sehwags, yuvrajs, rainas or dhonis.... i am sure u know that india reached the semis in the 1996 world cup only because of one person, sachin tendulkar. the spate of his fan following has come to a place where he doesn't have any fans in india but abroad. Ask the australians who hate india who is the one person they wait to watch the cricketer play in their grounds. Ask the new zealander who named his son sachin, or the English for their matter who is the only person they respect in the indian cricket team. its sachin tendulkar.
Noone is asking you like him, atleast appeciate what he has done for indian cricket. He was the one due to which indian cricket is now alive or else india would have been another bangladesh or zimbabwe in the 1990's.....

Whatever Sachin has doen is history now! In present context he is only a baggage which has worn out now. His utility in team should be in non playing capacity.

Again what you say is based on stats. Sachin was the highest scorer in 1996 WC but the crucial must-win matches (v Zim) and QF (v Pak) were because of Kambli-Sidhu (v Zim) and Sidhu- Jadeja (v Pak). BTW it was 15 yrs ago. He never changes his position in tests and in ODIs he changes position between 2 and 4 depending on the country where the match is played. So all others make way for him to score in the position where he's comfortable. People like Sidhu, Kambli and Jadeja and now Dravid-Laxman have been the unsung heroes always in the shadow of this man.

who is syed jawahar
never heard of such duffer

i think he should think twice before barking against a great
like sachin.

who is he showing records.had
sachin not scored 80 in semifinal of wc 2011 we would not be in the
final.

if he thinks dravid is greater than sachin, read this dravid(the wall)
has scored only 2 centuries against
Aus, S Africa. sachin has 11 vs Aus and 7 vs S Africa.

So duffer, keep your mouth shut

@Mr. Syed Jawahar
I guess I cant be too harsh on you because the moderators wont allow my post, so lucky you! SACHIN TENDULKAR is GOD, not only for all those amazing records he holds, but inspite of being in the limelight for almost 22 years, carrying the burden of a billion on His shoulders, He has neither ever lost His temperament, nor has He displayed any sort of human weakness.
You said SACHIN is selfish. Someone who has won INDIA almost a hundred matches almost single-handedly, and contributed heavily in the remaining 150, can't be selfish. Someone who stays away from His family 280 days a year, just to ensure that a billion live their dreams, cannot be selfish.
And crucial matches? Well, He scored 85 and a rollicking 53 in the semi-final and quarter-final clashes against pakistan and Australia respectively in the same World Cup, and if His failing in the same final is gonna take away greatness as per you equations, then players like Viv Richards, Sunil Gavaskar, Gordon Greenidge amongst many others will all have to be relegated as mediocre batsmen, and players like Dhoni and Raina should fit the all-time top 10 bill. And Sachin's average in all kind of finals He's played is a stupendous 48, semi-finals is 45 and quarter-finals is a whopping 70.
And He scores only against weaker opponents? Well, you must be kidding, or else you are foolish!
I'm waiting for your reply, so I can get into more technicalities! I have a lot of details and proofs.
Jai HIND!

Past laurels definitely wont win you matches.... The same was said about Dravid a few months ago, when he failed to make amends with his bat, and everybody thought he was done with his stuff, and now you are saying the same about SACHIN....
And btw.... Dont give me that pave-way-for-youngsters story.... Everyone suggested the same regarding SACHIN in 2007.... But then His second coming shut everyone up! And I sincerely believe SACHIN is still going really well.... His 34 at Lords and then a couple of other 30s in this series had class written all over them.... Its just that somehow He couldnt manage a big knock, till the last innings where a debatable decision ensured He didnt reach the milestone....
ANd btw.... What do you do Mr.Arvind? I suppose you are a professional....? Ok imagine this.... You are into a profession, excelling for say a couple of decades.... But then suddenly you fail in a couple of deals, and people around you want you to leave and give up the profession altogether.... How would you feel....? You'll say, "I can decide on it myself, I don't want people to suggest or order me....." Well.... Thats my poin exactly....
And now dont say Sachin has earned so much money and all stuff....
You are not doing what you are for free, are you.....?

You argument shows only your enthusiasm to support Sachin.Agreed he scored 91 well but what is the point to defend the score of 30s and 40s.No value addition. At least Dravid's centuries delayed India's defeat.

What's the use? No point in scoring 50s or 100s when it does not serve any meaning to save or win a test match.Even Amit Mishra scored 84.WHat is the problem for others to score runs?
