Will miss Sehwag in the ODI series
by Nikhil Shah on Aug 23, 2011 04:17 AM

Well with Sachin and Gambhir as openers in ODI, it would have been nice to have Sehwag in the mix. With Virat, Raina, Rohit and Dhoni it looks quite formidable. Yuvraj was a genuine allrounder in India though.

The bowling attack would be Munaf, Praveen, Varun and Mishra. Ashwin is also an excellent choice.

The amount of interest and focus shown on Varun and his pace in England is one thing we can look forward to.

killer instinct
by vinay on Aug 23, 2011 02:28 AM

atleast eng had that killer instinct so even after 3-0 win, they werent complacent. unlike ind which is known to win a single test in the series n then go for dull draws for the remaining matches.hats off to eng for this.

Blame the selectors and BCCI
by indira on Aug 22, 2011 06:06 PM

Selectors should be held responsible for selecting and sending unfit players for such an important tour. What is the need to send Sehwag when he is not fully fit? BCCI is also to blamed for treating the players as if they are machines. What was the need to have IPl after the WC which would have drained the players both physically and mentally? The players should have allowed to have rest and get fit for the overseas tour.

Will Srikkanth take responsibiltiy of the blunders he made and resign:
- Selecting unfit players (Zaheer, Sehwag..etc)
- Rushing back Sehwag (thinking Sehwag is superman)
- Continuing with Harbhajan (even though he is a failure for the past 2 years)
- Selecting a player as replacement (RP) when he hasn't played for 4 months

Considering the form of a player should be standard across the board (for senior & juniors) - say example, if someone is a failure for the last 3 tests or last 5 one-days he has to be dropped. Dont count on reputation.

Why was he even brought to England?
by sitaram varanasi on Aug 22, 2011 02:46 PM

If Sehwag is not fit, he should not have come to England and similarly with Gambhir. Both should have been rested and instead players like Abhinav Mukund & others should have been given a chance. Shame & such a waste to time & money.

show his greatness today also, as he showed earlier so many times...
Welldone Mr Rahul Dravid, a great player...
But what are doing our young players (Gambhir or Raina), where are so called youngsters, who wants to replace these logends...
Indian team needs help of these senior players Sachin, Dravid & VVS atleast couple of years.

NANAJI

VVS, Tendy, Dravid cannot possibly play for more than 2 years. I don't believe the current crop can come within 60% of their ability.

Same for Kumble. When he was around, harbhajan picked wickets due to the pressure exerted by Kumble on one end. Ever since Kumble retired, Harbhajan has struggled and has struggled really bad.
