Shame on your part above 3 players who did not contributed anything. You people should learn from Amit Mishra. you are liable to team now. You became laughing stock in England. Better you retire before you come back to India

Amit Mishra was supposed to contribute with ball, where he failed.

Rahul, Sachin and VVS were the only three batsmen who performed upto certain extent.

Mango:

If that was supposed to be the same humourous sarcasm that the above article liberally radiates, then I am thrilled by your hilarity.
If you were really serious in your comment, then I'm afraid you'll have to stay at the school for a lot longer than you'd originally planned... :)

Indians want to win the world by prayer rather than doing anything. This is high lighted in the "slumdog Millioner" when India prays for jamal's success.

how about england? did they fast to win? who follows lent/shravan these days? how many people go to prayers of worship? is there time for such things today?

the fact of the matter is IPL is numero uno in the minds of the BCCI and players - easy money in no time

as for our players fasting and subdued - most of them have oodles of fast around their midriffs and cannot run or throw...the Windies/aussies in their eras of domination did not use lent as an excuse not to play - england concentrated on test cricket not no IPL - the results are there to show

People pray more today than yesteryears. if you don;t pray, don;t equate everyone else with your category.

Spineless Cricket on an Unprecedented Scale
by shaun desai on Aug 22, 2011 09:10 PM

Today's loss of last 7 wickets for 21 runs was symbolic of Indian show in the entire series. Reams will be written analyzing this abyssimal performance and surely, excuses will be offered - injuries, umpiring decisions, too much cricket, lack of preparation time and so on. But just consider the following facts and queries:
Why was RP chosen ahead of Munaf? How can your strike bowler get injured and out inside the first two hours of the series? Why was Sehwag playing when obviously he was still nursing his injury? Why were our seamers so totally ineffective when the English bowlers appeared lethal? And ditto for spinners? How can you drop so many easy catches at test level and expect to compete? How can running between of test side be so pathetic - taking one when two, sometimes three were available? How can a test side field so poorly - allowing English batsmen free runs? Why was Dhoni so keen to go on the defensive and spread the field on couple of occasion when India had England on the ropes (109/6 at Lords and 124/8 at Trent Bridge)and allow England to claw back? How can so many great batsmen perform so badly, so consistently and simultaneously? Why stick with Raina after so many failures when Virat and Rohit could have had a go? Surely they couldn’t have fared worse? Why our tailenders try and chuck their wicket at every ball? What was Duncan Fletcher doing? BCCI, the captain, the coach, the players owe some answers and soul searching here or risk loss of popular s

Champion players always sustain tough conditions and come out good against any odds.Dravid is such an example but the rest of this Indian team is beggar’s belief. No character, skill, commitment or guts. Guess what next is going to happen, a possible white wash in one-day series and all those excuses from Dhoni, then flyback home and continue playing champions league, brand endorsements, etc.Until the millions of foolish Indian fans stop idolising these human beings as gods, raise their voice against corruption and encourage genuine talent in sports, there is no way for this vast country to produce quality and consistent sports personnel.

The whole idea behind Sachin and many others going to Satya Sai Baba and other such religious heads is to keep safe custody of their black money. This is a very basic fact.

Test cricket may ask you to dress in whites, but the souls are not necessarily so - after all they too are humans - probably more than you and me
