Mr. Tendulkar you have more than 300 odi opening experience and why did you not open the second inning for india. Dravid again carried his bat as all his parteners ran away.

You don't have this much kindness about the player who batted whole day and made sure we lose fighting.

Now the shine of the ball is removed you are free to score runs. What a selfish player you are. Whenever team requires in critical situation you never agreed to stand by the team. You just care for your milestones. I don't care if Rahul Dravid is out of form after this as he has done enough for the country.

Why Dravid is always made scapgoat by doing all that team wants? Any idea. You idiots earn billion and trillions and fame but look at this unsung hero.

Proud of your Dravid.

no yaar in his lords test dravid was crying about lack of endorsement nowadays we see that dhoni only selling from oil to pankha and making fun of fellow players. it may be the reason why bhajji did not performed to his potental and came back. everyone is angry over that dhoni success has gone over his mind

Sameer,
Your advise applies best to yourself.

Please stay away from ODI and tests and even this board, since you have no idea about it.

Some months back every indian was asking dravid to retire and was going gaga for srt and now again started to praise RD. I guess criticizing is the best and coolest job in the world
rahul dravid and SRT both are legends sometimes it happens that whatever you do it turns against you. if these players like SRT, laxman are not able to play well in the next 2 or 3 series than we can ask them to go but not now

all of them deserve a thrashing..idiots just don't know how to play in moving conditions..let them learn from Dravid...I want to ask Dhoni just one question..Mr. Dhoni..do you have the balls to travel on overseas tour without Dravid...all you guys will fall like nine pins..and when this guy stands up and plays..you term his play as slow & not fast scoring..what do you guys expect when you don't even know how to face a swinging delivery or a bouncing delivery?

Sure, but Devk has a valid point. Sachin has been opening in ODI for years and he even said openenly that the opening is his preferred position in ODI. That means, he is very experienced in playing new ball and psyche requires to play that position

Having said that, why can't he open in Test when one of the openers goes down? Look we're not talking about him opening in every test here...

Seriously , ODI and TESTS ARE 2 different games with 2 different gameplan. ODI is all about scoring quick and Tests is all about surviving.

Sachin opens for ODI's since he can get the quick starts with Sehwag. Opening in tests means you need a specialized opener.

T20's , anyone can open.
ODI's , not everyone can open
Tests , you need a specialized opener.

Dravid has opened few times before. It made sense to persist with him.

Its like in Chess. I you bring out the queen piece out in the middle too quick and you will have it targeted.

yep, you got that right ! Most posters in here suffer from knee jerk reactions. One series and they change their color faster than a chameleon.

Half of them were criticizing dravid prior to this series. Now suddenly they are all big fans of dravid and have jumped on the witch hunt bandwagon

I guess ITcoolie is trying to be sarcastic and condencending at the same time.

he is trying to mimic the mouth breathers who say " SRT plays fr selfish records" everytime india doesn't win despite his valiant effort

well done Jammy
by Sundaram KSM on Aug 21, 2011 10:27 PM

Jammy has been a Colossus, a Legend and a humble dedicated servant of Indian cricket. A true team man who has always done whatever and whenever the team has asked him to do without complaining. His work ethics are to be followed by everyone. His pride for the nation is exemplified by the fact that he has worn the same India cap given to him 15 yrs ago in 1996 on debut (like another legend Kumble). The KSCA stadium in Blr shd be renamed as Kumble-Dravid Stadium. I wish him continued success in whatever he does. Jammy mere Bhai, you are the Ultimate in Batting!

On Dravid's decision, I don't even see any deflection. I have the game on DVR and I keep rewinding and watching it over and I just don't know how is he given out? I would have thought the third umpire need to have solid evidence otherwise it goes in Batsman's favor..

England are Cheats. They spoke about sportsmanship, spirit of the game etc. and asked India to recall Ian Bell in the 2nd test. Where has all that gone now?

Rahul Dravid is one of the best batsmen India has ever producerd. This series is probably his last and we are seeing the best of him ... we will miss him. Hard to imagine Indian batting line-up without Rahul .... he is going to retire with grace and appreciation.

i beg to differ. Jammy is so fit and in such good form, he can play for another 2 yrs. A half fit, out of form Dravid is 100 times better than the Rainas and the Yuvrajs of this world.

And how do you justify his fitness - dropped catches in the slip? Dravid is a top notch player but he is aging now.
