Listless Indians

Not to beat down on the Indian team, India has played poorly. It is not that England won the series, only India lost the series. England is a normal and ordinary team. It is no better than New Zeland or Kenya. It is poor Indian form and injuries cost them the series. Give them some time, India will be back.

But thats not seem to be the only malady thats afflicting the Indian batting. Problems are multifold. They are caving under a not so reputed spin bowling of Swann also. WHen our Mishra was banged for more than 250 runs, this man comes and cooly takes three priceless Indian batsmen without a semblance of sweat.

The less said the better, Its foolish to continue in England unless Dhoni and company has not yet finished their shopping or their lust for British Scotch is still on!

For next series and beyond Sachin, Sehwag and Gambhir need rest
by R A on Aug 21, 2011 08:44 AM  | Hide replies

They need to go back to play a first class cricket and should be only allowed back after they score a century in a first class game. These 3 -Sachin, Sehwag and Gambhir have created havoc in the top order batting.

I agree. Give Sachin one test against Bangla Desh or Zimbabwe so that he scores his 100th ton and ask him to retire. Sack Sehwag and Laxman. They can not rest on past performances. Give Breaks to young players.Nobody is talking of giving break to Manish Pandey. They should give break to young players during domestic series.Even after India won world cup in 1983, India lost 0-3 and 0-6 against WI in tests and ODIs.

sachin will not score his century here even if he could.... he knows ppl will see this test series as bad dream and will forget it... him scoring a century will not be remembered... but the cunning culprit wants fame and money... he'll score in the next series when India is doing well... that ways there will be more interest from the people, media, sponsors, ipl franchises... he'll make atleast 5 times more fame and money than what he would make if he scores a 100 here... the some id10ot guys will recommend barat ratna for him as he scored all the 100 centuries for the nation and nothing for himself... his selfless act of scoring 100 in losing matches shud be honored and the country must give him tax free exemption for his life... and include his son in the team without any questions when he retires after 2015 world cup....

shame on this guy and his shameless suporters who claim he played for this country... he just played for himself and his sponsors... he is not the true hero of this country... the jawans and the military persons are... like you and me working for someone, he works for a company called bcci... that's all....

if he is the country's hero, than everyone who works in this country is a hero and he is one amongst you and me....

well said...his plan to retire the next day after hitting 100th 100, but it is costing heavy on Team India, Country India, and Indians. He won't retire until hitting that 100th one, for that single 100 he is even ready to play for another 100 years. No wonder, Indian govt waived a tax of 1.17 crores for his ferrari..and this player/businessman sold it for 1.55 crores to another indian. He really mocked India and our constituency by doing that. He should have at least given that 1.17 crore waiver money to poor, or should have deducted it from selling price and that is sachin

Like any other professional, sachin, or that matter any cricketer does not want to do badly on purpose! There is too much at stake to risk doing badly intentionally. It is just that the team is not prepared and were never prepared for this tour. They are just going through the motions and hoping that someone comes good. They look a tired and jaded team at present. Do not write them off just yet as we have just become used to them winning. They have to lose some time, after all they are not super human beings as we all expect them to be.

but how cunning was it for Sachin to not to play the West Indies series, and then happily turn out for the England series??? is it a Indian Cricket team or his own club team so that whenever he feels like playing he can jump in and when he feels he cannot he can happily take rest. what absurdness is this???

Batting woe continues
by indira on Aug 21, 2011 08:02 AM

Gambir getting injured either while batting or fielding and missing one innings has become a regular feature in this tour and this results in playing with one batsman less. In the absence of Gambir , the batting order changes and this affects the performance especially ov V.V.S. Lack of proper opening stand is one of the reasons for the batting failure in this series. Instead of Sehwag had mukund been included atleast he would have scored some runs. Failure of Sachin also added to the batting woes.

He needs to be quite or he will loose his job. He must know Sachin only likes to play #4 in test and as opener in One day and T20...

Wrong team
by Hot on Aug 21, 2011 07:44 AM

India should play the same team which they played against australia and new zealand while winning the series last. Spin is India's strength and they should have played two spinners, They should have played ojha.

Its over for Sachin, Laxman, and Raina
by Johnymera Naam on Aug 21, 2011 07:42 AM

Sachin, Laxman, and Raina played all the four test matches and their performances were pathetic. In any other country they will be dropped, but in India, only Raina will be dropped. For Sachin and Laxman, a series against Zimbabwe or Bangla will be organized, and, of course they will make huge totals, and everything will be back to square one. But the good thing is that, at least Raina's career seems to be over. Raina is not only weak against the short ball, he is also weak against spin. The guy seemed so scared of Swann, that he couldn't even open his account.
