India's problem started from the SA tour
by Nikhil Shah on Aug 20, 2011 12:26 AM

Let us take the SA tour. Zaheer misses the
first Test against SA and the Indians give up
500 runs with the SA batting playing havoc
because of Zaheer's absence.

It then manages to win the next Test but could
not get to SA's tailenders in the 3rd Test to
win the Test series.

The series is a draw with India maintaining
the number one status. The 1-day series saw
the missing of seniors because the WC was
around and India's bowling attack was not the
same in the WC as it was in the SA 1-day
series.

So it ended up picking Piyush Chawla who has
not bowled much in international cricket. A
blunder which was again covered up by the
Seniors by winning the Cup.

The WI tour starts with complacent Indian team which is over-confident but lack proper
integration of youngsters. It lost ranking
points in the one day series and also in the
Test series. Had they won points in the series
they could have held on to the points for the
English tours. Rahane with a batting average
of 67 was missing and Varun Aaron who hit
153kph in a domestic match was never in the
picture.

The England tour was a true Test and without
Sehwag and Zaheer, even with them was going to
be tough against a well prepared English side.

Overall the crunching of SA, World Cup, WI and
English conditions caused this debacle and
were careless to not win matches they were
suppose to losing points in the process.

If this is the performance of Senior players ....
by rambo only on Aug 19, 2011 12:48 PM

If this is the performance of senior players and tested players ..., then why not bring in totally new players who have potential for serving Indian team in future

like :

Cheteshwar Pujara
Badrinath
Virat Kohli (In tests , I mean)

Pankaj Singh (come on , give a chance to highest wicket taker in kast Ranji)
Umesh Yadav
R.Ashwin

I wonder where has Sudeep Tyagi gone. (Remember the new Delhi ODI against Sri Lanka . When he came to bowl after 20 overs, the ball bounced so-uch that Sri Lankans chickened out and math was abandoned.)

STUPID SELECTORS AND GAY DHONI
by sameer khan on Aug 19, 2011 12:28 PM

i just dnt know why sreesaanth is given so many chances he has falied again and again and again and india is loosing again and again but still he is selected for the 4th test ahead of munaf patel who has been the spearhead of the indian attack in west indies.............it clearly reflects that sreesanth is a gay and he is sleeping with dhoni and sum of the selectors to stay in the side and i dont see any improvmnt in his performance either ............i can see ishant sharma and rp singh bowling with the line and length and the moment sreesanth was brought in the attack the pressure was released from the english side and clearly munaf patel is a much much better bowler than sree....................

by silver mani on Aug 19, 2011 11:47 AM

Poor diet no meat. The main reason india didnot, doesnot and will not have genuine fast bowler because reluctance of including red meat in their diet.Pakistan had Sarfaraj ,Imran, wasim, waqar,Shoib Akhtar and many many more.Similarly West indies had their deadly fasties And same is the case witj England and Aus.By eating Daal Chawal, parantha,Idli Or Sambar u cannot produce World Class Fast Bowlers U can only produce Venkatesh Prasad or Mohanty atmost

NO POINT
by SRIDHAR RAGHUNATHARAO on Aug 19, 2011 10:45 AM

Outcome of the series and our fall from the mantle is already known with wider and humiliating margins of defeats. Why then to discuss the same points again and again? I feel there is NO POINT. Please devote your columns for other sports events.

Rain help
by LOL on Aug 19, 2011 07:50 AM

Rains will help India salvage a draw without any play. Dhoni and company will be morally justified and encouraged to sign more advt contracts and commercials on return,. Also the Indian govt will be considering itself exonerated when they bestow the top state awards on the Indian players like the Padma Shri, Padma Vibhushan etc. Wow how good that feels. Don’t mind the three test loss! Gods be blamed for not bringing rains in those tests!!
