Series Loss
by Bhaskar Shrinivasan on Aug 22, 2011 12:54 AM

Since Indian team is better playing 20/20 or 50/50, as compared to Tests, I think they would have been better off trying to play with the TEMPO of the shorter version, taking the bowlers to the cleaners. they could have tried such a strategy in one test at least. After all they have any way lost the series and it would have helped them demoralise the English teqm for once.

Poor diet no fast bowlers
by silver mani on Aug 17, 2011 05:47 PM  | Hide replies

Poor diet no meat. The main reason india didnot, doesnot and will not have genuine fast bowler because reluctance of including red meat in their diet.Pakistan had Sarfaraj ,Imran, wasim, waqar,Shoib Akhtar and many many more.Similarly West indies had their deadly fasties And same is the case witj England and Aus.By eating Daal Chawal, parantha,Idli Or Sambar u cannot produce World Class Fast Bowlers U can only produce Venkatesh Prasad or Mohanty atmost

i dont think he eats much red meat here because mostly animals coming under red meat category are sacred in india for eg.cow etc.

kapil,

how many bowlers flourished under kapil when he was a player and now when he has time, none that we know was groomed by kapil. in fact india faced a crisis of fast and med. fast bowlers when kapil was there. we now have zaheer and we can see him grooming the new comers, players have openly mentioned it and so has dhoni on several ocassions. there are scores of articles on mentors in indian team, kapil should sit down and read instead of commenting blindly. he may be frustrated with the performance but he should not be blaming just for the sake of giving some comment when a question is put forth.

You cannot groom fast bowlers. They have to come on their own talent and be ready to toil hard. Is the present bunch of fast bowler ready to do so?

1d10t... know the facts b4 BSing.... fast bowlers are not groomed... pace bowling is an inate talent... u can polish them to perfection but you can create them.... unfortunately for India the mumbai lobby never recognized pace bowlers outside mumbai... kuruvilla and agarkar were the only ones who bowled medium pace... others were alu eating batsmen or spinners (again no decent spinners as well)..

so it's the problem with the bcci and not kapil... he was not a liability when the team had manoj prabhakar, who was made a spinner in the later part by jayasuriya...

:) what's true for pace bowling is true for spin bowling is true for defensive batting is true for attacking batting is true for good fielding is true for wicket keeping.... Agreed? :)

If we want to win the 4 th Test
by Christy Uthup on Aug 17, 2011 04:34 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI should use clout to get balls above waist high as no balls
BCCI should wine and dine umpires at better spas
BCCI should appoint Salman Butt Mohammed Asif as consultants
BCCI should amend rules to ensure home team can play only one medium pacer

really..? BCCI is not bully to do all the things they wanted to do or you like them to do...and we do not need these considerations to win the test match..we have won many tests with just our might..we are not like pokistan.

BCCI should also influence ICC to amend some more rules
1. Balls swinging should be called NO balls.
2.Balls rising above Knee height should also be called NO ball.
3.Individual Opposition Batsman must not be allowed to play more than 10 overs
4. There will be no bye when Dhoni will keep.
5. Dhoni cannot be given out until he bats at least 10 overs

You can add some more points

Most Sensible answers !!!
by Swatantra Jananayaga on Aug 17, 2011 02:42 PM

"Easiest thing to do in this world is to do post-mortem." - Kapil hit the nail on its head.

Most sensible and pragmatic answers to the debacle.

Attitude of seniors; Dhoni bowling; Enjoying the game; indirect allusion to complacency; youngsters vs veterans; - Kapil is SPOT ON with his astute observations.

It is tragic that he has had no weighty place in the matter-of-say so far in cricket; and hope that the present debacle will catapult his stature and participation in the RESURRECTION of Indian Test cricket deservedly.

Rahul Dravid is speechlessman but VVS Laxman is very good teacher
by pravin sarode on Aug 17, 2011 02:24 PM  | Hide replies

VVS Laxman won 2009 Mohali Test as mirracle because he developed partnership for 8th and 9th wickets and india's fortune was that even if ishant sharma was given wrong out in mohali test last man remained not out till winning runs was scored so i compare Rahul Dravid & VVS Laxman partneship 376 runs in Kolkata eden gardens as partnership that will never repeat it self but they both must atleast slog to break their own records as Sachin Record Tendulkar is doing nothing but car racing business and we all know that we can not ride two horses at a time hence we lost 0-3 hence to avoid 0-4 white wash planning must be there in dhoni's mindset as how to get the work done from his ex bosses because getting work done from ex boss is very tough so all the best to dhoni for getting work done from sehwag, sachin, suresh so that even if any two indians managed to build 376 runs partnership then only there are chances to drwa this test such is awesome confidence gained by BRITISHERs as shown in movie Da-Vici-Code so indians especially south indians like Dravid and Laxman must express themselves as batting coaches to young boys like dhoni, raina to bat till last ball as sachin is not motivating his young boys and what is missing is team spirit it appears from body language of sachin in mumbai mirror that he is caught by police as run away military man and forced to complete bond tenure so it is very right Kapil Dev said that seniors are doing all other business other than coaching boys

Laxman and Dravid only score record centuries. India lose shamelessly. See the current series if you want proof.
See? Even I can write anything and prove it thru examples that suit me.

Harsha ,Ravi sunny are very quite whenever Sachin has failed in this series. But whenever he has hit a Four (which is rare )you will hear them as if no one else can hit a four in cricket

Agreed! When Dhoni got out in Trent Bridge while not offering a shot, it was "stupid of him to pad up". When Sachin got out in almost the same manner, it was "very intelligent piece of bowling."
