Why waste millions of work hours for a useless game??? what a shame! Now anna hazare &team MUST fight to Ban Useless Test Cricket! Can he do that at least NOW as a patriotic duty for the nation???Who cares for Boring and Poverty-producing and useless TEST CRICKET and Long duration ranji&duleep trophy cricket, etc??? THIS GAME OF CRICKET WAS INTRODUCED BY CROOKED AND WICKED BRITISHERS LIKE MAKING AND MARKETING OF MAHATMA AND non-violence dirty trick to make all majority hindus mmorrns and ennuchs and cowards forever and the past 64 years shows that the crooked britishers were successful to make us a BANANA REPUBLIC of majority morrons with their dirty games, we must BAN Test Cricket forever and WE must shout that we will not allow Boring and Poverty-producing and useless TEST CRICKET to make us poorer any more. One day cricket or t20 or t30 cricket ONLY must be allowed and THEY MUST BE ALLOWED TO BE PLAYED ONLY ON WEEK-ENDS OR HOLIDAYS so that we do not lose millions of working hours of men and women and youth any more and we do not remain poor forever due to useless and time-wasting and Boring TEST Cricket too. All patrrioti c citizens and sponsors MUST BOYCOT TEST Cricket and ranji and dulepp trophy cricket FORVER if they love the nation and want the nation to be super power in next 20 or 25 years too!

Critics need to be compassionate to Team India
by bharat sant on Aug 14, 2011 10:30 PM

Indian players have faced a humiliating defeat in the 3rd Test in Edgbaston. They had no face to show even as the game was proceeding. But they cannot hide their face as they were playing.

Let us look at the positive side. Everybody showed a poised face. I think they all played their (emphasis their) best game. The problem was no their batting, bowling, or fielding. Let us accept that English players were superior in every aspect of the game. Astrologically speaking, "our time" was bad. Let us not condemn our team and humiliate them more. Ask each player if they played their best. Ask them to answer honestly. Whether we won or lost, one attribute is conspicious: Sachin Tendulkar was a total LIABILITY. People made him a hero, a genius a Bharat-Ratna stuff, and so on. He was always praised even for his deficiencies, his failure, his out-of-form. He should not have been in Team India since 2009 or 2010. A person in his place could have changed the destiny of Team India in England. That's all.

Independence day gift!
by Anupam Chakrabarti on Aug 14, 2011 01:28 PM

It is our teams gift to the Nation, its people and our leaders for the Indepedence Day, by surrendering to none other than England itself. Good to emulate your leaders. Thank you for your performance, we are indeed grateful.

Dhoni's craps
by indira on Aug 14, 2011 12:25 PM

Dhoni commented that the team should not be judged by one series loss and one or two test match losses don't matter. Of course the loss doesn't matter but the manner in which we lost, going down like cowards definitely matters. We know that win and loss are part and parcel of any game but the manner in which you play is most important. He also said that every overseas tour helps one to improve as a player and one should not be bothered to change the technique and all that crap. No team plays overseas to improve their skills but to win the matches. As a playerhe should also know that changing the technique is very important inorder to adapt to the conditions prevailing in a place. Besides the captain, the three senoir most players who have played for more than 15 yrs together should also share the resposibility for this debacle. I think it is high time a rotation policy should be adapted to include only one senior player per match so that the youngsters will get a chance to play and improve.

who is to be blamed?
by jeyachandran israel on Aug 14, 2011 12:21 PM  | Hide replies

compare the batsmen in english pitch. They handle it easily! Compare it to the english bowlers! They make the balls to act as they wish! But our batsmen and bowlers are not able to do it! Defensive tactics will not succeed there! Stroke play like Dhoni will get runs! So selection of players is wrong!

Glorified Indian Team
by sugumar on Aug 14, 2011 11:53 AM

The Indian Test team is not consistent in their performance.Just because we won the World Cup Indians were Glorified and we pressurized them to perform.Let me recollect after we won the World Cup in 1983 Clive Lloyd West Indies team toured India and licked us 5-0 same thing is happening here in England. We have now rebuild our Test team now.

by Proud Brahmin on Aug 14, 2011 11:44 AM

these are not dead flat tracks of india, india has never won a test series in Australia and South Africa...India should only play in india because that's the only place where they win or at the most just stay inside Asia otherwise they will keep on getting thrashed like the way they are in England...no one would be surprised if Cook scores another 294 in Ovals as well...just take this team back to india and eat bryani over there...give bharat ratna to tendi-noodle and ask him to retire

Don't Worry

I am sure people will forget all these after a home series or at any place where BCCI have a say. Pitches for west-Indies series was a good example for that ;-)
