laxman's innings
by girish pulicherla on Aug 11, 2011 06:48 AM

of late laxman is not converting his starts into big scores that is reflecting on the indian scores we are unable to cross 300 even though dravid made two centuries the difference is laxman plays well with the lower order batsmen and the scorecard keeps on ticking so if he plays for 2 or 3 sessions he makes a hundred and the team also gets runs he should desist from playing some risky shots and play some simple cricket shots when the team is in need for runs and I request the government please give him the BHARATRATNA award and tell MR.RECORDBOOK to retire from cricket it is disgusting to see him going after records and getting out.

If England take the mantle of number one team - we are at peace .No pressure. All our players and the public will concentrate on IPL .

well said! they started IPL to loot money. initially, other teams felt the brunt of injuries, etc owing to IPL. But in the long run, our team members fell prey to it. Being No1 is a great record, true. But to carry on being No1 is possible by Aussies only, not our team which lacks the killer instinct.

Test Result.
by Surya Prakash on Aug 10, 2011 02:18 PM

India - 129 & 201
England - 457
England win by an Innings and 127 runs.
I am sorry. I want India to really win the test, but with the present form, commitment and attitude of the Indian team, the above seems a reasonable guess. DONT EXPECT ANYTHING FROM SEHWAG IN THIS TEST.

if sehwag remains fit throughout the test series he can fulfil the place of bhajji so that india can go with amit misra the legie. only rain can save the English.

Sachin scores century only in safe matches. Dravid is much more reliable player than Sachin.

No bench strength
by Shankar Nag on Aug 10, 2011 12:33 PM  | Hide replies

The problem with this team is, there is no proven bench strength. When Greg Chapel took over, he increased the bench strength and he tried to give oppertunities for all the players eqaually so that the team doesn't get stranded like it does now. But, our team and BCCI politics drove him out and we continue to pamper our main star players. See what happened. A mediocre medium pace bowler is our spear head and when he is injured, team is totally lost. Present team doesn't deserve no.1 spot. It will be a great job if they come back without losing the series 0-4.

It looks like you a very intelligent guy.Greg Chappell concentrate on bench strength so India out from WC 2007 in the first round.Reason bench is strong but core team is week.

Greg Chappel does not deserve any attention. Talking about him is waste of time.
