The aftermath of this series boils down to one thing. Over the past 7 tests or 14 innings they had the right and best options in the WI tour of Mukund and Vijay.
Should they have continued to tour England?
In the absence of both Shewag and Gambhir the pressure to get a good start was difficult. So for the England tour should the selectors go with a pair which has been playing cricket but not as established as Gambhir and Sehwag?
There are several reasons the management can look at this situation.
This resulted in India getting poor starts for the last 14 Test innings. What was the solution then?
It would have been better to not rest or exclude both the openers at the same time. Shewag was injured but that was not avoidable. Missing both regular openers in WI was a problem. The Test opening aspect is the most difficult job overseas and Mukund/Vijay had difficult time surviving.
Murali Vijay had bailed Gambhir out in India, but it is not possible to bail both out at the same time.
The inclusion of Ishant and Gambhir has made a big difference to the Indian side over the last 2 years. We hope Varun Aaron and Rahane can add to this difference.
Though Ishant has slowed down, Varun will make a similar impact early. If he can decide to focus more high nutrition diet and a very strict fitness regimen along with playing lesser cricket than needed.
Varun Aaron in this short List-A career has an eco rate of 4.6, which makes him a legitimate contender with his pace to survive
Sewage is a smart player but coming back from the rest and relaxation, it would be too much to open the innings and before he could blink he can get out in the very first over. God forbid....look at him closely on TV you know how much he is under tension during the first over till he hits atleast one boundary.

and we Indians have this funny ways of putting pressure on key players by creating too many rumors and expectations and hype the situation to something dramatic, it must be all the spice we eat that we spice up every damn thing we see, hear.
too much risk in pushing Laxman and mukund into the 11, it is playing wild card.
I would say, have rohit replace Laxman or Mukund. Seems that is not possible because selectors have kept rohit out. Now get an EXRTA SPINNER such as Rahul or Ashwin to apply more force to bowling attack by resting tendulkar or dhoni (Dravid can keep the wickets).
RP for Sresanth Pragyan for Mishra / Munaf
And somehow, Sachin should call in sick so Rohit can be allowed in case he is fit. otherwise, sachin ego will block anyone who takes his slot and wont allow him to do good.
i would say, Gambhir has still to prove, so he is at risk, Sehwag should come down the order ... will take some time to warm up and figure out those snick balls that can be handled from 4th-5th wicket and those from front foot.

remove laxman ? ..i am sure you are eating smoking shytting chapateees.... when will northiesss develop some brain at last ? ....is there no hope for northiesss ? ...never ?
One should not be surprised at the pathetic performance of the Indian team in the ongoing series against England. We have been white washed many times and it will not be different now. In between our victories were based on individual performances of Kapil, Azhar, Dravid, Laxman, Sachin, Saurav etc. Now Dravid, Laxman and Sachin are 37 plus and the mobility is not there. Sachin and Laxman have slowed down in their movements. We also do not have players who can step in to the team and start performing like the greats. Dhoni is a good player in subcontinent but can any one sum up his run aggregate in South Africa, West Indies, Australia and New Zealand. One will find his run aggregate is poor. You can not blame him as he is not equipped technically.
Let us bear in mind that for England also it has taken 40 years (after 1971 ) to get back to the top spot.
niether technic nor has any ability to play a quality test inningse on a sportive pitch against quality pace attack of ENG......dont know how he survives this ENG attack......ugliest batsman frm india's side...hope he finishes test series somehow.....but....cant escape frm 0ne day seires....similer pitches , conditions and bowling....tortures period for him....very limited ability as a player..

opner player v.segwag,Ingland ki teme me khalbali bacha dega garnity ke saat, without v.sehwag,India loose two match,if the v.seheag give good start opning then india cover next match.
to be positive and aggressive...play the following team:Gambhir,Sehwag,Dravid,Sachin,Laxman,Dhoni,Mishra,Ishant,Pravin,RP Singh and Ojha...if five batsmen plus Dhoni can not deliver an additional batsman can not...RP Singh in place of Sreesanth to add variety to pace attack.
