It is good that there was a two day match in between and Zaheer played in it. Otherwise he would have played the 3rd test and left after first spell because of injury. We do not want dhoni to bowl anymore.

Only money matters
by Krishnakumar Narayanan on Aug 07, 2011 12:05 PM

Actually why we expect those bunch of players to play always well and entertain us? They are not expected to do any charity work. They do all these for making money for themselves and family. IPL is the best option and destination of New generation cricketers. So what if many senior players tired after IPL chose not to visit WI? Puritans may argue they would have battle-ready had they worked in WI. But what for? If they can make money whether they play or not, what else they will choose when there is an option not to play for country? They can't skip IPL due to contractual obligations - understandable. They can skip national tours as there are no obligations - more understandable.

Out of sort Dhoni
by Anand Shankar on Aug 07, 2011 09:58 AM  | Hide replies

Earlier whatever decision Dhoni took turned to be gold, but presently its not even brass. What is Dhoni trying to do or say? He bowled the second over of the second new ball in the two day game against Northant in which our bowlers could not pick first wicket till 47th over. Gambhir too bowled, but Shewag was not tried. Pathetic that a captain who has achieved immense fame has lost his glory in just 2 months (series against WI and ENG).

Total mess up
by Anand Shankar on Aug 07, 2011 09:54 AM  | Hide replies

Selectors and the so called Team Think Tank have made total mess of Indian cricket. Zaheer was unfit and why the hell he was chosen for T20 and ODI series???? Dont we have any replacement? I do not remember the name, there was one bowler who bowled for Delhi Daredevils consistently over 140 Kmph. Why dont we groom those guys??? What is happening in Indian Cricket? We have lost the plot and No.1 spot is slowly but steadily slipping away from our grasp. I feel sorry for those individuals who really made Team India No.1 and current team is unable to hold on to it not even for 2 years.

The BCCI is taking the England tour as a holiday . If Zaheer was injured why the hell was he in England they should have sent him home & replaced him with RP Singh or Irfan . Pathan . Seriously MSD & team have lost it with BCCI screwing Indian cricket to the core .

Drop Zaheer
by Srinivasan Iyer on Aug 07, 2011 06:52 AM  | Hide replies

In the first place he should never have been included in the team unless his fitness was certified. Let him come back home rather than being paid to sit in the pavilion. Cannot we send any other bowler? e.g R.P.Singth?

if dhoni can bowl and give only 13 runs
by D S on Aug 07, 2011 04:40 AM

and manaf can take equal wickets as sreesanth, there is something very wrong in the picture that videshi want indian selectors to see. make them MAKE a WRONG team SELECTION.

i would recommend, selectors consider Pragyan ojha along with Rahul, an swing allrounder such as Irfan or ... should be considered.

Zaheer seems to be back to his merry ways...
by Manu Zach on Aug 07, 2011 12:25 AM

Zaheer had gone through a similar situation in the past, and he had successfully managed to cut his body weight down and come back to the team with a bang.
Now he seems to have gained weight again, and at 32, he is not getting any younger.

LazyKhan must need to be dropped
by Lotiya Pathan on Aug 06, 2011 11:53 PM

This little punk Lazykhan must be dropped from the team for couple years.

We can do without him. Bring on some youngsters and let them developed. Team is better to have less talent then Lazy suckers, who don't value their opportunities
