is not war, hence there was nothing wrong in recalling Bell, in fact claiming Bell run out was against the spirit of the game because Bell was not going for a run. However one can say Bell was naive to assume that Umpire has called for tea and ball and started walking off the field.

By the way, Kris Srikkanth was also naive in wandering out of crease, with no intention to run after playing the ball to John Emburey at Gully, in his debut test and Emburey ran him out with a direct hit...these same English guys now talk about sportsmanship...

yes LG i agree with you that it was against the spirit of the game! However, it doesn't give the opposition team a RIGHT to ask! There is nothing like a RIGHT! The entire credit should go to the Indian team for having taken this decision. Especially SRT.
today in india's all leading indian newspapers a new fact regarding the recall of bell was reported.as per a nottingham daily ,infact it was tendy who brought around dhoni & fletcher to agree to recall bell. earlier dhoni had refused thrice to yield to english captain & coach's request. thus the new hero & sportsmen spirit exhibiter is not dhoni but the god of cricket. sachin's magnamity ensured india's massive defeat, criticism of dhoni for his poor captaincy & failing to perform.once it came to light that tendy was behind bell's recall, all criticism by media, tough cricketers like botham, atherton, bedi, kapil etc have stopped. sachin has once again proved that he is god of cricket, who is beyond criticisms. now sachin has become the top contender for ICC's player of the year, & has been contacted by many corporates for promotional events.

You mean we lost the second test because Ian Bell was called back? What a joke! Ha ha ha! He scored only 20 something runs after he was called! We lost because we deserved to! Take it on your face and don't blame the good samaritan!
hello mr flower and english peolpe did you forgot waht you did to graem elliot of newszeland ,when umpire asked your captain 3 times you are appealing for run out you did nt changed that time where are you enjoying with girl friend in bedroom useless fellow you should be slapped with cheppal that you are right to ask dhony to with draw appeal .go and check your replya what happend between new zeland and england oneday match
What Mr Fower Sir meant was that as superior white men it was their bounden duty to rebuke the brown heathen monkeys and ensure that they showed the proper form and spirit when playing, what was after all, the English gentleman''s game. That they themselves never show such grace and spirit is of course extraneous to the matter and, anyway, inferior class peoples like us are no one to judge them
If BCCI plan to produce 2 National teams with 20 member squad for each, then every player will get a chance n enough rest. And players can concentrate on the game without any pressure to cement their place in the team, becoz if not perform well in the main team, will demote to next level team. Now see I Pathan,Agarkar,Uthappa,VenugopalRao and Balaji...etc.., all these are very talented players but not sure whether they come back to national side again. So that we can protect a lot of bench strength to challenge any nation and we don't lose any player.
Team-A plays with top 6 nations 1.Australia, 2.SouthAfrica, 3.Srilanka, 4.England, 5.Pakistan, 6.Newzeland. Team-B plays with next top 6 nations 7.WestIndies, 8.Bangladesh, 9.Irland, 10.Zimbambwe, 11.Netherlands, 12.Kenya.

Excellent idea. Adding to, players should be shuffled based on their current form. :)
