Sehwag
by Anand on May 02, 2011 11:55 AM

Sehwag played a superb innings against KTK. He was very cautious in the beginning. Then hammered the bowlers. Hope he does the same for Indian cricket. If this happens then 400 should be a regular total for India.

Don't blame it on mahela. He can only pick from what he has got
by Rajan S on May 01, 2011 03:35 PM

Unfortunately the bowling attack he has got to pick in the kochi team is basically an indian one and that is the department where indian national team struggles. So that means the KTK bowling is obviously average. They could have tried the other way around by picking a batting line up that is an indian like one and foreign bowlers should have formed the nucleus of KTK attack.

Kochi has go it wrong in overall team selection
by Rajan S on May 01, 2011 03:24 PM

Mahela turned around the SL team, when it was loosing matches indiscriminately under atapattu-tom moody combination.
Unfortunately, in Kochi tuskers case, mahela has got a bowling attack which is basically revolves around indian local players and that is the department where indian national team struggles. So that means the KTK bowling is obviously average. They could have tried the other way around by picking a batting line up that is an indian like one and foreign bowlers should have formed the nucleus of KTK attack.

KKR, MI and CSK have almost booked their places in the SF's
by Rajan S on May 01, 2011 03:12 PM

From a neutral point of view , i think MI, CSK and KKR will make it to the semifinals and one spot is still yet to be fixed. It may be RCB or Kings XI. I think this time KKR will face CSK in final. KKR can win it if they can keep their nerves but CSK has the experience of playing in big matches. So they will start as favourites.. For MI, I doubt their ability to play knockout matches and they may choke during the big games

Irfan Pathan
by prerna gupta on May 01, 2011 06:57 AM  | Hide replies

More than the relief for Delhi, by finally winning a match, what was good news for Team India is that Irfan Pathan, in his second successive match bowled with his old rythmn and actually picked up wickets. A fit and potent Irfan is the perfect balancing factor in Team India......

If pathan can rediscover his bowling form, which he possessed when he got selected to the indian team during the 2003 series against australia down under, then he can even replace zaheer as india's premier bowler. Such was the skill and ability that irfan had. He had a special ability to pick early wickets and his inswinging delveries to the right handers was a treat to watch.

Yes, Pathan is showing considerable improvement. Good line and length.

Sehwag is the match winner. The only difference in the match played on a very tough pitch was Sehwag

A place in the XI is difficult to find for Irfan, but he should be made available for selection.

1. Mcllum should keep wickets
2. Laxman should play in Patels place and open innings with Mahela
3. Jadeja should bat one down
4. Brad Hodge two down
5. Mcullum should bat in the middle and take team to win

McCullum is not keeping wickets for New Zealand also these days. He likes to play as a Batsman only.

Parthiv Patel is chosen because he is a Gujji -- same as the owners of KTK. Let him get a chance, maybe he gets back into Indian team ? ?

McCullum likes to come down the pitch, swing the bat and that swing mommentum is strong enough to carry him all the way to the pavilion..... He should start doing dance classes... He will make more money...

have u taken patent of shoiab malik? how much he has paid u for being his brand ambassador? He hasnt done anything substantially for the DD team in the first ipl season. And basically, he is only an average cricketer. Nothing more
