match fixing makes the game exiting. All s done for money, BCCI is hugely supporting this kind of things because in that table all are masters of corruptions and they may have given a huge ransom to get the world cup.

Dear Surya, its all about money. Whistle blowers like Prabhakar were either shut out, or like Cronje, Woolmer were sent out of the world.

This is a also a fact that we are rejecting match fixing allegations in this World cup semi-final and Final only because India won it. Had Pak not given Tendulkar 6 free lives and won the SF match,or had Sri Lankan captain not given 3 lives (2 stumping misses and one catch), I and you would had been saying the same things about Team India like Tilakratne is saying about his own team.

Indian cricket is full of money, showered by MNC consumer companies to sell their products to 121 crore people. They are heavily dependent on two type of popular models - Cricketers and film stars only. If these fail, they will fail in India.

Match fixing just because India won, right ?

1. Gatting played a needless shot and got out when England were cruising against Australia in the 1987 World Cup. England batting collapsed soon after and Australia won.

2. Australia failed to defend 240 against Sri Lanka in 1996 World Cup finals, Shane Warne who single handedly destroyed West Indies in the semifinals, finished with 10-0-58-0

3. Who can forget the dropped catch of Steve Waugh by Gibbs in the 1999 World Cup

4. If all Indian matches are fixed why India has won only 2 World Cups out of 10 and 1 T20 World Cup out of 3 ?

3.

Money in cricket came after 1990 when Pepsi entered India, and the real cola war srarted for 86 crore market in 1993 when Coke came. And this followed dirty money by MNC consumer companies. Now the market size is of 121 core people.

1987 world cup was played in white clothes and there were only a few companies like Thums up, Vimal, Pamolive etc used to flash their ads in cricket matches. Only few players like Gavaskar, Sharshtri, Kapil etc had a few endorsements.

And, about Prabhakar, Azhar and Jadeja.. those were match fixer, caught red handed shown the door to them.

But did you find any player who played so many years for his country, keep quite after his retiredment. Joined poltics and now making hue and cry..cause he needs attention and overnight publicity.

These are cheap people, should not be allowed to either play cricket or in poltics..

Then in 1996, WC semi final we won the toss and well aware on pitch report but gave oppositions to bat. Then 2007 we lost to Bangala and last do_or_die match against SL thrown away our wkts.. ?? NEVER our players ever alleged this..

Surya ..buddy ..there is nothing national about BCCI..its a private body. And Mr Pawar ..why shd he waste his precious time in running the show/Is he doing a charity for the sports? If you have any ranji level players in your close circles ..they can give you some insights into the dark underbelly of Indian Cricket.

I never deny the fact that poltics, or groupism exist in Cricket. It's not in cricket alone, other sports too.. yesterday u see French football drag into controversy that they did not allow black and arab players in their selection process..and so on. Similar to mafia and drugs.. Everybody know abt Italian football leagues..

But the matter is does our team lost a match or won apart from their credibility and talent. I certainly feel no, not even a corrupt team like Pak.. yes in their team few may be indulged but not whole team. This subject shows that this idiot is claiming since 1992 they are fixing it..which is entirely false.

and I was replying to SS, who was claiming that matches were fixed and Im not saying this cause India Won.. My dear friend, cricket match is full of uncertainty.. if they dropped 3 catches (NOT 6 catches) of Sachin there is nothing great in that..look at Pak fielding then u understand.. against NZ they dropped two easy catches against Taylor, who later in stage murder their pace attack.. So do u mean to say that match was also fixed? ...Accept the truth that a team won the match with their talent and hard work on a day. One or two players can not change a game as whole.. Those days are gone..my dear friend.

I completely agree with u on your view on Mahela and I'm also sure that he is not that kind of guy who gets into Match Fixing. But I'm sure Match Fixing is rampant in Sub-Continent. Specially in this BCCI regigme. Most of the administrators in BCCI are crookes, gundas and rouges with money and political powers and with money they get out of cricket they can armtwist any board in this world. Since 2006 not even single team is as half good as thery were before except for England. Newzealand, WI and Pakistan have slumped to the level of Bangladesh. Srilanka & Australians played like Bangladesh/Newzealnd team when they visited recently. I'm sure BCCI manipulates many things in cricketing world due to its money powers. True story is that none of the boards have guts to take BCCI on.

A lethal combination for the indian team
by Rajan S on Apr 29, 2011 11:57 PM

I think navajot singh siddhu and boria majumdar should be named coach and manager respectively for the indian team. Then the pharmaceuticals companies can make huge sales by selling sleeping pills. It will be in huge demand from the indian players day in and day out. Who knows, even the bcci bosses will start subscribing to it.
