There is no denying the fact that it's BCCI that's running the show and not ICC. IPL is setting a wrong precedent. Players are no longer bothered about representing their country. If playing six weeks of IPL can fetch them crores, why play test matches. I think the ever-increasing popularity of IPL is dangerous for World Cricket and its existence. Very soon, he will hear other big players announcing their retirement from international cricket.

If players choose the IPL dream over other formats, who are you to judge them?

I guess no one is judging them. The game gets poorer, so it is a loss to genuine cricket fans. We have a right to express..
malinga gets crores of rupees for playing 6 weeks in IPL, many times more than what sri lankan cricket board pays him for representing his country internationally.nowadays cricketers have become very proffessional 2day. money is more important for them than country.it is same for all countries.for e.g sehwag skips tests, odi's but never IPL. steve waugh had expressed in 2009, that IPL will finish off tradional cricket & loyalty & pride factor playing for the country, now his prophecy is coming correct.

Reeks of sour grapes regarding Malinga, Sehwag etc. They do have to think of themselves don'y they?
the slinga has obviously sold himself. after a rigorous month of world cup games SLC wanted to get him some medical attention. but linga wants two more months of rigorous cricket. he sounds like a juvenile who is completely taken over and lost his mind to the IPL frenzy.

well..i am from mumbai buddy and although i know how much he means to the MI, i would still stay he is showing disrespect towards his country by playing in a cricket league than his country. His country needs him, he has to go. Period. Even we would have ridiculed our players had they played in the English county season instead of India. Thats it.
