MOM

I would say, the MOM award went to both as sachin shared with Rayudu (non officially)... Still, Rayudu deserves it for his scintillating batting..

Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu is a real match-winner. He was a star in ICL. His contracts with ICL led to his downfall those days, otherwise he would have easily cakewalked into Indian team had he been little patient (I know some politics those days didn't allow him to come to Indian team as early as he wished, but he should have been bit more patient and kept on performing, as hard-working and talented people will earn success later at least and no one could have stopped it)

Now its difficult for him to get into Indian side with full of batsmen. Anyways there are some spots available in Test team and he should really practice accordingly to get into test team.

He can definitely be an asset in any format. Some more patience and performance should keep going...

I wish he keeps performing brilliantly and in parallel improve his wicket-keeping skills and become a regular wicket-keeper. That is one of the easiest way he can get into Indian team, because Dhoni is shaky when it comes to playing in Test matches. Indian team captain can any time get into bad form and lose both captaincy and place in the team. So he should be on his toes

I think Dhoni hasn't done any thing special to win either T20 or ODI world cup. Neither he made the Indian test team No.1. He has just carried on what his predecessors started the process of making Indian team the best in the world. It all started in 2001 australia series and by the time Dhoni become the captain all the players who were just youngsters (Yuvi, Bhajji, Viru, Zaheer, VVS)in 2001 had become best in the world and were at the peak of their careers. If you look at the Dhoni's captaincy record, you'll come to know that these are the guys who've contributed (along with sachin) to team's success. Here and there some other players including Dhoni (jsut like in the final of WC) have won few matches for India. Otherwise Dhoni's contribution to India's wins is ordinary and nothing special. He has got complete support of BCCI so he is a very relaxed & calm and taking credit of other players who majory contributed to teams success.

Majunath..I think you need to check records and not say you "think" you can think whatever want, but facts remain..if all it was handed blah blah why same team with same players got screwed in WC2007. Same team lost test series against Aus in Inida..it was only after that Dhoni stepped in..Leadership is something you will never understand...and fianlly you saying he taking credit of all other players!!! Just go and see all the pictures of world cup and team celebrating...Dhoni is not in picture or even taking center stage and letting boys take the limelight thats a mark of TRUE EXCEPTIONAL LEADER that Dhoni is...

But when rayudu hits 63 in 50, the same arm chair experts are ready to sing paeans of captain Sachin's mentoring, but in the same breath they discount the world cup win, not one but two and no one status in tests.

You have to also consider Sachin effective captaincy to restrict RCB under 140 for mom award.
