Sachin Haters will be pulling their hair....

Oh dear! Even Wisden is sold to Sachin!

Comments from Sachin haters until now...

1. What's the use, he never 'won a world cup for India'. (You have to learn from these bunch of idiots that world cup is supposed to be won by one individual, while the remaining 10 players go shopping!)

2. Now that India has won the WC:
"So what, he choked in the finals..." (Never mind the fact that to reach the finals, matches prior to that also have to be won!)

There is no replacement of Sachin today and will never ever be

SRT is legend and will remain so.
However, time has come where he should pass on the baton to youngsters like what he did with MoM award.

Otherwise he would be counted in line with kapil and gavaskar who played just to break and make more records.

why did Kumble retire? why did imran khan, wasim akram or even murlidharan, Warne retire? They were very best when they retired.
Sachin is now only playing to make more records and for his commercial gains and nothing else.

In general, the public doesn't give other sportsmen due credit to their efforts even after bringing accolades to the country. Only a cricketer is given crores and crores in money as award (besides his heavy match fee) and above all is given tax free options to secure a Ferrari car or for the money he gets out of these awards.

A sportsman in this country other than that of Cricket, has gone into deep lack of self-confidence. Only 8 countries play cricket seriously and in India, there is so much hysteria about it. this game is not at all talked about abroad (USA). Why don't we put in our moral efforts to encourage athletes like new generation PT Usha sort of girls and boys to improve our olympics tally.
There is a deliberate effort by corporates to produce persons like Sachin & Dhoni who then become their face to sell their products.
Cricket is a very good and interesting game but it has been hijacked by corporates and politicians of india.

Sorry my friend i disagree with you.
Sachin plays cricket because of his passion for the game. He is not playing this for records anymore. He has got enough of records. Each and every game he plays and every run he gets is becoming a record. He still enjoys the game as a 16 year old. In terms of enthusiasm level he is at par with suresh Raina. He just loves the game and he is afraid of calling it a day, coz he cant live without playing cricket.

And who are we to judge him. Who are we to decide on his retirement date. Itd him SRT who should take the call. As long as he can entertain us.. i would pray for him to continue doing what he does best---PLAY CRICKET FOR INDIA

Well said vimal. In this world cup he is the highest scorer for india and made century against toughest opponent (SA and Eng) but his team mates let him down by throwing their wickets. Yes right now every run he scored is a record in itself. And if he score runs at this pace no one should complaining.

You have to understand that Kumble, Akram and Murali all retired when they were past their peak. Agreed, they were still good enough to continue playing at the highest level, but none of them was in such blazing form as Sachin is today!

Is it in the team's best interest to ask a player to retire when he is in best form?

Why did the following retire -

Kumble - Because he would have been kicked out if he had not retired. He averaged about 60 with the ball throughout 2008. Fans were begging him to retire or be kicked out.

Imran Khan - Because he was 40 years old, and he came back from retirement to play the 1992 World Cup. He was a spent force by then.

Wasim Akram - He was kicked out of the team. He didn't retire on his own terms.

Muralitharan - He was a pale shadow of his former self for the last 2 years, yet he kept playing just to achieve the record of 800 Test wickets.

You don't even know history. Gavaskar is one of the rare Indian players who decided to retire on his own terms. He made a dignified exit with solid performance in his last series as well as his last years. It's Kapil Dev who kept hanging on to the team just to break Richard Hadlee's world record of most Test wickets. His refusal to quit deprived Srinath a place in the team who was far better than Kapil at that point of time.

Well said, Dire Straits. Sachin is far from a liabilty to the Indian team. He is still our best batsman. But for His contributions in the Semi Final and QF, India would have most probably lost. In the final also, he looked in great touch and scored 18 off 14 balls, which included a trademark straight drive...He scored nearly 500 runs in this world cup, just 10 odd runs shy off the top scorer Dilshan who scored a bulk of his runs against minnows and average ODI teams like England New Zealand. Compared to him, Sachin scored a hundred and a near-hundred against the two best ODI attacks in this world cup, South Africa and Pakistan, not to forget his hundred against England and a crucial 50 against Australia in the QF...Well, one can alwyas find a fault in everybody. Even Don Bradman has his detractors! Like it or not, Sachin is the Best Modern Day Batsman, miles ahead of Ponting and Kallis and a shade above Brian Lara.

Tendulkar - 67.16

Dravid - 65.41

Laxman - 54.53

TAKE THAT AND EAT IT!!!!!!!!

They forgot that because that win is attributed to Sehwag firework filled 80 score.

That is the problem with people who have never played the game, just follow it. They dont know that it takes more than one performance to win the game and try to pick one man-of-the-match and ignore everyone else.

I dont pay attention to these guys, since they are fans of retirement norms, not fans of performance. I just enjoy Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvi, Gambhir, Kohli, Dhoni and Jaheer without worrying about their ages.

All those jealous people hate Sachin because he worked hard all his life, sweated out for India and along the while made some money.

yes wisden is good for all sachin fans but when wisden didn't include any of his test century among the best 100 centuries then wisden was not good. His states are good but not better than kallis, dravid or laxman though laxman and dravid have averaged less than sachin but they have won more matches for india......Sachin is one of the best in one day internationals but not in test.
