Need of bonus runs
by George Kurian on Apr 12, 2011 09:59 PM  | Hide replies

ICC should think about implementing bonus runs if team batting second would like to gift some runs as bonus to the team batting first in case any player missing on a personal achievement like a century. In yesterday's match if Aussies gave 20 bonus runs to Bangladesh Shane Watson could easily make a double century which was well deserved for him.I remember incidents and controversies when team batting first tried to deny century for batsmen of team batting second. If bonus runs are implemented such problems can be avoided

Shane Watson record breaking
by rajalakshmi sarma on Apr 12, 2011 10:23 AM

If Shane Watson can plunder runs at will why did he not show the same kind of tenacity and will to score runs against india when it mattered most in the world cup. This one knock would have made a difference but Indian bowlers capitalized on his weakness and got him out. Even Indian batsman scored heavily against Bangladesh. Viru and Virat scored heavily that the Bangladesh bowlers were scurrying to all parts of the ground for collection of the ball from the boundary ropes which they might have never done in their life. They got so tired that they stopped running behind the balls that they left to the discretion of the batsman to punish them. Such was the ferocity of the Indian batsman during World Cup. Here it is only a bilteral series with Bangladesh team just on the building stage. Hence no great feat Watson. Show your might against good bowlers.

Would have broken Sachin's record
by gajodhar misra on Apr 12, 2011 10:22 AM  | Hide replies

Just Imagine, in case the Aussies had batted first, Watson would have easily broken Sachin's record of 200.. I bet he would have scored 250 plus for sure or even gone to break the 300 barrier. Keeping in fact that they had completed the target in just 26 overs !!

Biased media

Look at the media in reporting this extra ordinary feat of Watson !!! Had it been Tendulkar, all newspapers and TV channels would have given top most importance with frontline or breaking news !!!!
Atleast now let the media treat cricket as a game and not dedicated to a person as a whole ....

Bu|| $hit, he has hit sixers against minnows Bangladesh. So nothing great about it. If u see the list most of the centuries were hit against better teams by individuals. So nothing to hype about ....Also with so many sixers and boundaries he could not break the 200 mark either that too being notout sent as an openor:)

When was it last time Sachin hit more than 8 Sixers against Bangladesh, when was it last time sachin hit 185* while chasing 230.
Please Look at Cricket as a Game not like a War between 2 individual (or) 2 countires

Now all Sachin fans will start saying the initials of Watson and Tendulkar are same - SR, because of which Watson could hit so many sixes and fours!!

SACHIN...The Great...
by JeyaPrasath VC on Apr 12, 2011 08:54 AM

Sachin, The great, holds the world record for most number of fours (25 fours) in a single ODI innings. Watson now holds the record for most number of sixes in an ODI innings. We should appreciate both for their feats...
