canceled this year's IPL and given the much needed rest to Indian World Cup Team members. OR rather could have asked all the World Cup members to opt out of this tournament (they have already got crores of money from several sources, so money is not the concern) and even stopped foreign players for this particular edition. If there were financial/commercial commitments, they could have run this tournament with only bench players and emerging talents of India. Then we could have seen whether there is real interest for cricket in our country (will people support non-stars?)
Anyhow this year's IPL is going to be a flop by far compared to the previous editions. It is long one as well (10 teams, huh!)
Is it SET MAX OR SIDHU MAX ? What boring match related show the channel puts up in the name of analysis ? Extraaa Innings has really become a virtual useless 'extra' not worth watching with Sidhu pounding the eardrums with his non-stop crap in the name of analysis or Siddhuism or whatever.Why can't the anchor ask Siddhu to be brief and be short in whatever he says ? What is the role of the anchor fellow and the other expert also hardly gets to say any thing.And there appears to be no ground rule.Siddhu, even after he had his fill keeps on butting and not allowing others to speak.What sort of anchoring is this? He is not reqd.Just let Siddhu sit there alone and keep on blabbering.Sidhu's bak-bak is really very jarring and intolerably annoying/irritating.This way only option for the viewer is to skip the EI and switch on for Live action directly.

It has just added to already boring tournament. He should be thrown out of Sports presentation/commentary! I wonder how media is persisting with him...
In this IPL, more than Foreign players and Indian Domestic players, I think it will be the Champion Indian World Cup Team members would make the difference. So lets see how they are distributed amongst the teams...
Depending on this, I think CSK and MI have an edge. CSK has the captain himself Dhoni and Raina, Ashwin who performed very well in World Cup. In MI, we have none other than Sachin and also Harbhajan. Munaf is another guy in that team. It also has Rohit Sharma who is probably a better player than Yousuf but his inconsistency led to his depart. Next comes RCB which has key members Kohli and Zaheer. And then Pune Warriors with Yuvaraj and Nehra and it also has Uthappa who is as good as Yousuf in my opinion. KKR has Gambhir and Yousuf. Delhi has only Sehwag and Irfan who is as good as Munaf/Nehra. Punjab has a low-key Piyush, but also has Praveen Kumar who if not injured should have easily walked into the World Cup team and performed much better than Munaf/Nehra. Deccan doesn't have anybody to our surprise, but Ishanth is as good as Munaf/Nehra branded himself as more of a Test Bowler. Kochi has the uncountable Sreeshanth, but has RP Singh, Vinay and Jadeja who competed for WC spots. Rajastan is the only team which doesn't have any kind of World Cup members or probables, surprising, but surely has good foreign players!
No fan base in kochi due to majority of Mallu Migrated and living in banglore and chennai.so even we can find more fans either of these 2 city than kochi in away matches.and also there Jersey looking awful candy.. Moreever kerala IS FOOTBALL crazy state so cricket is not popular it will disastrous for kochi having IPL team.

The JN stadium has a capacity of 54000 which is 2nd to Edan Gardens.Of-course it was not full,but had 38-40 K people which still is more capacity than most of the stadiums in INDIA... If KTK reduce ticket price a few Hundred,then it will br Full.. And on the team,u can c them on semies..
For Sherya, We always support good team,wthr its football or cricket... By the start,yesterday KTK has won the crowd and now they will win the matches..

Low fan base... Kochi is not BLR or DEL. The population is much less and the stadium has a capacity of around 55K. The other problem is lack of transport facility late in the night to neighbouring towns. The rate are on the higher side and probably not affordable by the already small crowd. Suggestion is that the games should be only day time so that people can travel back home. Reduce ticket price. You will see the difference in crowd support.
