To some extent you are right about diet playing an important role in the development of fast bowlers.

In was in a Gym once here in the US and there was a sign saying poor diet and workout is not good.

The nutrition density on non-veg diet is higher, so the quantity-wise you have to eat less for the same amount of nutrition.

You can get a lot of proteins from Soya beans and if you can condition yourself in the Gym you can build up the strength for becoming a fast bowler.

Fish, Chicken and red meat will help accelerate the strength buildup but you can manage with a veg diet as well if you are aware of the nutrition.

As per your logic Americans should be bowling fastest?
I agree with you that we need some reserves of energy to bowl fast, but it can be from any source. No professional sportman would have iron deficiency. So why only meat proteins?
Chicken these days is just growth hormone , injected liberally.

And you're prejudiced as hell my friend. You can turn anyone into a saint or a scoundrel by manipulating facts. Sachin is just a simple guy madly in love with cricket and batting. He is not perfect (who is?) but still amongst the finest role models that professional sport has seen.

world cup success
by ashok singh on Apr 06, 2011 11:20 AM

being an indian, i am proud that our nation is world champion. now a competition among the state govts/different ministries of central govt has started to take lead in benefiting players of cricket team. why? players are already being heavyly paid. they are also busy in advertisements also. in a country where half of population still living below poverty line. is it justified. now saching wants to establish a gim in the top floor of his house which is against the rules. the state govt is thinking to change rules, why? we do not immitate good things of western countries.

New Champ.. ..Gautam Gambhir
by Ismail Qureshi on Apr 06, 2011 10:55 AM

Since he played all the innings in knocked down stages super and for that we won the World Cup. My observations he will be new champ.. to see and will realize in coming years. Most important aspect of batting skill he never afraid to any bowler but kept playing without fear and hesitation. On thing I want to convey here that Indian batting lines famous world wide but you cannot ignore Zaheerkhan as he alone included as bowler in ICC Team. So in coming years Zaheer will also most dangours to all the crciket playing world. Really, his first Spell 5-3-6-1.

Most successful Gary Kirsten
by Ismail Qureshi on Apr 06, 2011 10:41 AM

Most of the time he spared with the players and maintained homely relation so as to feel member of the team as a Family. This is Psychological treatment, interalia he never asked to change the style of playing but he managed to help in his own style. So players should himself his own to do something and gained to much confidence. To be a student of Psychology I feel Gary learned lesson very well and trained the players with warm affectunate. Really he he has done wonderful job history will remember for long years that he helped us, as one can see the achievement as mentioned above. This is an absolute phenomena, the way he treated our players and ultimately achieved the goal. We could have not asked any more... but saluting him.. Godbye... and good wishes him for new assignment.
