ashwin or sreesanth
by avaraa on Apr 06, 2011 03:59 PM

one day before the match Dhoni said the pitch is not going to favour spinners....this is the basis of selecting a seamer than a spinner...equally sreesanth is a better bat than ashwin....FORGET temperament of Sree!!!

Please stop discussing about what would have happned if Ashwin had played instead of Sreesanth etc. We have the WC and just enjoy it. I am thinking SOuth Africa are going to hire Kirsten as a coach and will look forward to the WC in Australia strongly.

I have to disagree with you. Just imagine what would have happened if we had lost the match because of wrong decisions. Especially the toss being called twice. Dhoni is the greatest Captain, there is no doubt about it and he led from the front, but if we had lost, those two decisions about Sreeshanth and the toss being called twice would have been discussed dissected for many days to come.

sreesanth was the right choice
by anilkumar on Apr 06, 2011 04:05 AM  | Hide replies

Even if sri lanka thrashed him,he was the better choice for Dhoni.Maybe sreesanth was targetted in the first powerplay, these things happens, for even zaheer was targetted in the last powerplay. If Dhoni had gone for a spinner instead, then the score woulld have exceeded 300,because they would not have started so cautiously. All the asians team are good players of spin, murlis pathetic bowling figuers in the finals are the evidence.
Ashwin would have conceded more.Although Sreesanth leaked runs,it was bcoz he was targetted, not coz of his bad bowling, just like zaheer was targetted in the slog overs.

am not a Tamilian but if you had learnt your History lessons properly you would have known that first uprising against the British took place in Tamil Nadu, way before the 1857 Revolt

Jerk.. do you know who Rajaji was? who Kamaraj was? While not the same folk-lore as Bhagat Singh, Vanchinathan shot dead a British collector named Ash in 1911 in protest against coronation of king George as the emperor of India. The first swadeshi steamer company was started by V.O.Chidambaram Pillai. You sure have not heard about Subramania Bharati!
As for hinduism is concerned, it was Adi Shankara and Ramanujan were the ones who brought about a re-birth of hinduism by defeating buddhism. Last, but not the least, Ravan was a shaivaite hindu brahmin, many refer to him even today as pandit Ravan.
Research a bit before you come and your vitriol here

addendum: Ramanujan was Tamil, Adi Shankara a Kerala namboodiri brahmin.Forgot to add that. Finally Swami Vivekananda's trip to Chicago was sponsored by a Tamil King, the Raja of Ramanathapuram.

There is no guarantee that Ashwin would not have been hit by SriLanka who are quite good at playing spin.

pace bowler of India
by bibin das on Apr 06, 2011 12:14 AM  | Hide replies

In fact India don’t have any good pace bowler, sreesanth can bowl more than 140khr unfortunately this fellow don’t know what to do with bowl, agreed he is better fielder than Nhera and Munaff, and Zaheer is very recently performing well in the ODI, so sreeshant should think over his line and length and do it well in future, otherwise he is better to forget about Team India.
