If you know cricket, can understad total scenario of indian cricket since last 10/12 years, even before that, you will understand Sourav Ganguly is the best indian captain among all. Definitely M S Dhoni is following his path in proper way. But considering every thing it is established that Sourav Ganguly is the BEST.

Dhoni's midas touch is undoubted!unquestionable! But from your mind tell me that the post WC events like awards, prizes, allotments of properties, free travel assistance , honorary doctorate, more endorsements at hiked fee(double)and what not.GOOD!!!a country should acknowledge the achievements. Nevertheless, What grinds me is the following questions.1)Why the other 14 members' contribution to the victory is under played?-barring Sreesanth everyone played very well-.2)Why the other winners of world events -olympic,world chess,CWC to name few are unnoticed.3)No award or prize money is from anyone's personal property.-Govt. pay from it's exchequer. Private companies that he endorse at high fee will never compromise at profit. They have to raise the price. Ultimately, the bottom line remains the poor tax payer and the public will have to bear the cost of all.Are we paying for the victory?

There is a heartwrenching story today in the Times which says that while Yedurappa (the Karnatak CM) is giving out lands to these cricketers, poor Asian medals winners are crying out for land to develop their sports, for more than 10 years now. Dhoni played just one innings, one innings in the entire tournament and he is already stinking rich. The govt is paying them heavy cash prizes for uplifting whom? Paying Dhoni 2 crores is like paying a tip to him - he doesn't need that. All this is for show : the politicians, actors just using this madness for their own gains. 1. BCCI is giving out crores to the players. 2. S Dixit is giving out crores to Delhi guys and also MS 3. Jharkand, an absolute mess of a state, is giving land to Dhoni. 4. Chennai is giving multicrore flats to every cricketer. 5. BS Yedurappa is giving out land to cricketers. And the list goes on. Yedurappa BTW did not honor a single Asian Games medalist who fought their hearts out for a medal - he found a pitiful little time for Akkunji. Down with this madness!

Very well written, i agree with you. Cricket is the famous game in India, but other games also have to be lifted. Indian sports need to uplift itself and create more opportunities!!!

Don't take the credit away from Dhoni. Promoting himself before Yuvi is a smart move because one, he can keep the right hand and left hand combination to upset the rhythm of the bowlers and two, Dhoni and Raina are the two batsmen in the Indian team that knows the most about Murali since they have played him in the nets at Chennai Super Kings.

Promoting up the order when out of form, keeping up with the run rate in a pressure match like WC final and delivering when mattered the most is not easy.

Dhoni is a cool, aggressive, bold and daring captain for sure. Winning T20 WC, IPL, Champions League and ODI WC in a short span are testaments to it.

Dhoni.. Mr cool
by Ramesh on Apr 06, 2011 02:03 AM  | Hide replies

Did we find best ever captain for Indian team?? May be.. After Kapil, India is seeing Dhoni as best captain. Thats why they both got world cups for India. They can inspire the team.
People are giving 1000 times more credit to Tendulkar who always play for records. If he cares the team and country, he would never play 20 -30 balls to move from 95 to 100 in ODIs.
There are players who will play for country like Dhoni, Gambheer, Yuvraj and VVS. They never get their fair share of credit.
There are players like Sachin who gets more than what they deserve.
Hope Dhoni changed that forever.

you are a sadist. you dont need to degrade a sachin to prove dhoni great. they both are great in their own ways. and after Kapil, Ganguly was the best captain. he changed the face of the indian cricket. anyways no use explaining it to you. but nevertheless i believe Dhoni has outclassed all. the guy with the golden touch. And for that you dont need to degrade Sachin Tendulkar. It is for regionalistic ppl like you with biased views that this forum is so pathetic.

Dhoni has a team of leaders and hence his task becomes easy.
by Another Critic on Apr 06, 2011 01:49 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin is a leader of batting.
Sehwag is a leader of Dare Devils.
Gambhir is a leader of Knight Riders.
Kohli is a leader of Under 19 World Cup winning team.
Yuvi is a leader of Kings XI
Yusuf is a leader of slogging and pinch hitting.
Raina is a leader of Super Kings in the absence of Dhoni.
Zaheer is a leader of our pace attack.
Bhajji is a leader of our spin attack.

When Dhoni is leading a team of leaders, his task of managing the team becomes very easy because most members of the team are leaders themselves and know what their responsibilities are. In short, Dhoni has few inexperienced members in the Indian team to manage.

This is the mantra of our World Cup success.

May be a difficult job for a skipper when he is not in full form. Dhoni defintely did well in managing the team that is studded with stalwarts. Qudos to him
