Thanks Gary but it was mutual

It was great help from Gary due to which INdia won the world cup; but the team also sacrificed not to hurt Gary's sentiment and that is why in this World cup the only match we lost was against South Africa;
Any take on this?

good luck

Gary Kirsten has done wonderful things with indian cricket...Now he wanted to go back to be with his family and friends and we all respect that decision. His timing of quiting is also impeccable after letting India No 1 in both test and one-day and he knows his job is done. Nobody is indispensable in any job and new people always fill up the positions of left ones but he will be remembered as a champion coach and mentor. Best wishes to him and his family,

gary is a soft spoken person and doesn't insist or show dominance. that is exactly why the team pulled up to this level. he always remained in the background and soft handled the players who he very well knew had varied temperaments and ego. in such conditions one should not speak loud, or repeat too often the same thing or insist on his game plan. so he had provided that natural conditions where players could grow their natural talents and above all sty mentally fit to take on any target.

Gary is a true genius and we can only wish he were an indian. alas, he has a country and his personal life and we can only bid him farewell with heavy heart and wish him more success in whatever he does. Above money, fame he had won over the hearts of indians, and their prayers and blessings. One cannot get or need anything more i guess

We need to do everything to keep him India, we need to stop him from leaving, anything at all. We can let him leave, even the Indian team are upset at not having him as their coach.

We in India believe Guru, a teacher like God. Your guidance to Team India has taken them to ultimate peaks of all formats of the game. We earnestly request to stay back and we need you and love you. Do rethink about renewal of the contract.
