cricket is making us one-cricket is our religion-cricket is unity
by Proud Hindu on Apr 04, 2011 03:24 PM  | Hide replies

it is told thatDHARMA make us together but due to having invaders mughalsANDbritishers, we were divided, our relegeon has been divided! but now cricket is fulfilling this requirement of DHARMA! so, cricket has become our common relegeon other than our known one!

yesterday, hyndu , msulyms all were happy and there was no complain on each other! We kept a close watch in some msulym area where found them enjoying like us!

earlier, msulym used to support pakistan but i have seen, this time they(maximum) have not supported much pakistan in semi final!

and in final, indian msulym has proved that they r our brothersANDsisters only and come out in full enthusiasm to support their motherland!

we r once again united! cricket has made us united!

special thanks to dhoni, yuvi, gambhir, zaheer who has given us happiness!

we were like child to enjoy this momemt!

this moment has come after so many years!

For some years, we had forgotten to laugh due to congress misrule and appeasement policy but now my msulym brothersANDsisters will teach congress a lesson in every state because they have also understood that congress has divided us ! they also do not want now appeasement!

we r hinduORSikh orMsulym, but when cricket played, our relegeon become one-CRICKETYSM!

LONG LIVE INDIAN CRICKET!

its there for all to see that fact remains Dhoni's leadership and his performance in the final match in Mumbai has stolen the limelight from iconic batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Dhoni stands at a much higher level in public eye then tendulkar now.

No Cure possible for Puckis infected by Arabic Plague

Days after winning the hearts of numerous Indian fans with his remarks after his team's loss in the World Cup semi-final, Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has said Indians are not as large-hearted as Pakistanis.
Afridi also slammed the Indian media for its "very negative approach" and said the Pakistani media was a "hundred times better" than its Indian counterpart.

"In my opinion, if I have to tell the truth, they (Indians) will never have hearts like Muslims and Pakistanis. I don't think they have the large and clean hearts that Allah has given us," Afridi said during a talk show on Samaa news channel when he was asked about relations between the two countries.

"It is a very difficult thing for us to live with them (Indians) or to have long-term relationship with them. Nothing will come out of talks. See how many times in the past 60 years we have had friendship and then how many times things have gone bad," he said as the audience in the TV channel's studio applauded him repeatedly.

"We don't want to fight with each other but a third country – everyone knows which one - is trying to spoil our relations. (This country) is taking advantage of Pakistan and wants to take advantage of India. I don't want to go into details but these people will not let us come together," he added.

pakistanis are not large hearted but extraordinary large bottomed. i wish indian media shut them up once for all reminding them of their dirty ten, who perpetrated such henious crime in mumbai that if pakistanis want to call themselves human beings then they should shun their prejudice running in their blood against india and hindus.

well we should ignore pakistan and not try to be good to that country. they should earn respect hard way. no pampering words need be showered on a nation of criminals.

There is a large media group, the Times of India, which is going to town with a relentless campaign of PEACE, Aman Ki Asha is the thing they are promoting all over the country. You have to suspect their motives, because this is an out-and-out ch or media group that has perverted every rule of news coverage, by purveing sponsored articles are news on the front page.

Gavaskar
by Devdutt Sen on Apr 04, 2011 03:19 PM  | Hide replies

Gavaskar was the first of the successful cricketrs to have donned the India cap. I am not saying that he was the greatest bt undoubtedly the first internationally acclaimed as a successful cricketer. He hs said that 1983 win was bigger as it was unexpected. Actually he is dead wrong. In 1983 there was no pressure as India were underdogs and in final they played in a carefree manner as they felt hat reaching finals was achievent enough for them. It is entirely another level of pressure when you are the tornament gavourites and you have to live up to that reputation and that too in front of your home crowd. 2011 IS A FAR BIGGER ACHIEVEMENT, WITHOUT TAKING AWAY ANY CEDIT TO THE TEAM OF 1983 AS THAT WIN CREATED PLAYERS LIKE TENDULKAR AND OTHERS AND MADE INDIA A CRICKETING POWER TO RECKON WITH.

I think I would differ with your statement - 1983 win was definitely more challenging and a greater achievement. It was thrilling to the CORE. Their were more heroics right through. You can never take back the fight Kapil put up against Zimbabwe when India was trotting at 17-5. That one match befits a World Cup title. You have to imagine the time when Test Cricket was still considered the only recognized form of Cricket and people were very inexperienced with One day internationals. The then West Indies team was far more potent and powerful than the Lankans of 2011. For the Indians except for Kapil and Mohinder there were none to play attacking cricket. I think 1983 win will on any day stand out as a greater achievement than the win of 2011.

I agree with Devdutt Sen After that 1983 win West Indies came to India and beat India so badly. 5-0 something. 1983 win was a lucky win.

Yes.. Its true that WI beat us black and blue after the WC win in 1983. But that does not take away the efforts Indians put up in the WC matches. The way they defeated England, WI in the league matches and the win against Zimbabwe were not flukes. Okay the present Indian team is stronger and consistent but the win in 1983 was something else primarily because of the underdog staus India enjoyed at that time. Imagine playing against odds of 100-1 favouring a WI win in the finals.
