we want a professional national cricket institute comprising of former players and managers of repute plus phisoptherapists and strategists as faculty to train new talent, rehab the injured players and provide professional players to national team ....

institute which gives diploma courses in various aspects of the game, should have competent faculty and all facilities including physios and doctors and medical facilities to treat special injuries players sustain....

correct. they can reschedule ipl according to polls, but don't have basic sense to time tournament quite after the world cup for the very sport it represents: cricket. and now that we were finalists, our players need all the more rest.

Gambhir was the man who consolidated India's comeback from disaster..M of M should hv been shared between Dhoni & Gambhir.

exactly. the real man of the match is gautam gambhir. with nerves of steel in the situation he found himself after sachin/sehwag got out, he played unbelievably well.

It was injustice to give MOM to Dhoni. Who decides it? I really hate Dhoni for this even though it is not his decision. It was too bad!!! I was happy india won cup but MOM should deservingly go to him

let players relax and have fun ...but team management eediots should get back to work from tomorrow...... with players going for IPL one should take care of injuries....besides that, this is the right moment to lay the foundation to a solid and healthy domestic cricket which can supply us with new talent.

once a player has injuries ...he finds its hard to get back his rythm and style after returning ...so we should have a rehab like cricket institute where players are taken care of and enable them to get back some good techniques by maintaining their record...

the need of the hour is a national cricket institute....

its appalling how BCCI which milks so much money on the popularity of this game has not come up with a strategic and professional institution to train talent and rehab experienced players....i think sports ministry should step in and do this urgently....

open your eyes Aholes....dont bask in glory for long ....let players have fun ...but let us start our work from now on

Yuvi

Absolutely deserves this honour. Played fantastic throughout the tournament with bat, bowl and field. There's not a single game where he didn't chip in. If he failed with the bat, he made sure to chip in with the ball. He has wickets to show and runs to show. Top player this tournament.

He has done no other Player in the world has done winning 4 MoM in a world cup and man of the championship. He is my favourite batsman in Indian team after Sachin & Sehwag. I always wanted him to achieve great things for Indian cricket and he did that in Oneday format. Now I'd like to see him in Indian test team continuously for at least 6 years and perform like this. I'm really really happy for him.

Fixing the arrangement
by wibas wibas on Apr 03, 2011 01:14 AM  | Hide replies

In corporates companies decide to give contracts to their business partners, but still call for 'Request for Proposals'. No foul play or no corruption, the company's CEO or some CxO simply decides to give the contract to selected business partner. This is called business arrangement and is perfectly legal but unethical. For example, World Bank, IMF are slammed for their bias towards US because US is their largest shareholder, and in fact is US President decides the head of world bank. UNO itself has approved inhuman wars of Iraq and others, because the security council is managed by US, France and UK leaving China and Russia. No one can prove this to be corruption, it is only termed as political arrangement.

How is this related to cricket? ICC is the regulator of international cricket and BCCI - the Indian Cricket Board is the richest cricket board across world, so unless India wins the cup - ICC cannot survive. In 2007, India has exited prematurely so ICC wasn't able to rake up the projected revenues. This time ICC is careful for India to win.

Before the semi-final match itself ICC chief Haroon Lorgat said it will be a "fairy tale ending for Sachin". how can he say even before semi-finals, unless 'special arrangements' are made for India to win? Simple business sense to make India win, no fixing but only arrangement. No wonder Sharad Pawar gave 400 million rupees of tax benefit to ICC. Good arrangement but truth is it is fixing.

LOLZ

Read the full statement of Lograt
"Can you imagine a (more) fairytale ending with Sachin Tendulkar getting a hundred in the final and India winning at the Wankhede which is his home ground?"

Sachin DID NOT score a century in the finals, and if fixing had been there Lograt is not such a big idiot to reveal it in the public.

Rs 400 million (40 Crores) is far too less to "fix" a tournament like world cup. I guess just the TV revenue fetches a lot more money than that.

:D. Truth is Pakistan as a state is a failure. It is being bombed everyday, people are killing each other and loosing in every other cricket matches. It is soon going to be a failed state. You can only survive beleiving in such stories. So go ahead and dream whatever you can as we enjoy the party tonight.
