N.Srinivasan financial status to be examined
by krishna on Sep 27, 2010 07:49 PM  | Hide replies

One should conduct an enquiry on the financial status of Mr.N.Srinivasan & his Business organizations before he became a member of BCCI, because as a former employee of India Cements I know how much struggle the company faced from 2002-2006 after they have taken over Raasi Cements Ltd and they even struggled to pay Salaries in time and PF payment was also delayed, if one conducts a fair enquiry on this then one can come to know what is the truth, today all are pointing only Mr.Modi but all the members of BCCI are culprits and to avoid the embrassment they have found a scape goat in Mr.Modi

You may say anything about Srini. But don't give clean chit to Modi by calling him scapgoat. The charges against him are very serious and BCCI is collecting necessary evidence. please wait.

No Clean chit to Modi.

But what was Modi without BCCI? Was not IPL BCCI's baby to kill ICL. And they used Modi to do that. BCCI and Modi both are equal culprits here.

Who exactly are these 'sources'?
by nisha thoas on Sep 27, 2010 07:46 PM  | Hide replies

These so called sources keep coming up with instances of corruption in IPL, and it has been so since 5 months. However, if all these are true why dont the media publish the proof that there is indeed corruption existing and that action will be taken? I get the feeling that there are sources within BCCI who is jealous of the success that IPL became(billion dollars in 3 years) and are out to get Modi and his associates. IPL is a fantastic concept, and I loved every minute of it, esp when RCB were playing. It shows Indias economic might in the most emphatic way, and no wonder even the cricket boards of eng,nz envy it. Anyway inspite of stories, IPL ran to full houses this year, and we cannot be so easily fooled by lame stories. If there is proof furnish it first. Lets forget all this and go back to cheering our cities!

Well, well..how has the IT and BPO boom improved the 'basic' country's infrastructure? IPL has given jobs to thousands, improved the cricket stadium and more importantly made the whites show that they can earn in India - not just the other way round.

And on the street kids, slum dwellers earn basis subsistence but have 4-5 kids. They are burdening the economy without any input to it. These extra kids are just a living waste, a burden and a global curse. We can't spend tax payers money on them.

Your argument is full of flaws. How did IPL improve the infrastructure of the country? The matches were held only in cities and that too for just over two months. Did any of the IPL franchise care to spend the money on the infrastructure of these cities - none.

Dear O Dear, no private institution makes infrastructure. They just create an office and jobs. Its the government who makes money thru taxes and provides roads, water, electricity, etc. etc (what you call as infrastructure) to the public.

The whole point is, govt makes money by taxes and gives back infrastructure. Your problem is your govt. gulps all the tax and you get a HI5 slap!

Just so you know I am not a promoter of Modi but I like cricket (whether it is ICC event, IPL, ICL, or anything.)

First of all correct yourself: It is Gujarat and Gujarati. If in South India, "t" is "th" then please use "thamil" or "thelugu". Do you like that?

Now 2nd if you think Modi is Gujarati then you are wrong. he is from Rajasthan.

Now 3rd, IPL did create jobs to India. I am sure Modi is corrupt and I would say most of BCCI members are and they must be punished. With corruption though Modi, created excellent event for the country but I bet others will not do that.

Just because you are jobless and have all the time in the world to watch every game on TV, doesn't make you a cricket expert.

India is growing only and only because of private companies rising and making money. Govt and PSUs are a liability.

To blind supporters of Modi
by om shanti on Sep 27, 2010 07:28 PM  | Hide replies

Please donot say that Modi could have done CWG better..

IPL is a club cricket of 8 teams..and USD 30,000 players,I mean new comers cannot have complaint of filthy toilets..they have to accept it!

What Modi succeeded in bring cheer gurls and made Indians dance to their movements and he arrange night parties to corrupt cricketers further, indirectly promoted prostititution..

CWG is an international competition with 100s of events and 72 participating nation..it is not 8 team IPL club game..

So,we cannot assume that Modi could have successfully done WG..Hooper and Fennel would have skinned Modi the same way they are doing to Dixit and Kalamadi..

Why peoples are worried about 72 crores by lalit modi ?

Why not concentrate on Cngress wealth game of 78,000 crores which got us national shame ?
Atleast modi got the guts to conduct such big games with no hassles and gave new entertainment mantra to the world ...

thats way less than what i had expected for all the halla gulla raised and the way Modi was pushed out. We are talking of misappropriation of 3.5 crores and the accounts for the hospitality tickets.

We allknow how things work in India, the bigshots who were supposed to pay n buy the hospitality tickets show up at venues feeling as though they are the cheif guests. So there is every possibility that a lot of Pawar's croonies had walked in and walked out without being questioned.

Specially after the way the common wealth money was swindled IPL sure deserves credit for the world class event it was.
