RCBs, MIs, KKRs will clamour for Chennai players now
by Mohandas Satyam on Sep 27, 2010 10:20 AM

CSK has the makings of a champion franchise. The team is easily the best T20 team around because of a variety of factors: Seniors (Muralidaran, Hayden) who are totally involved, amazing crop of youngsters who have emerged alongside the franchise - Raina, Vijay, Ashwin, mature and cool headed players such as Dhoni, Morkel, Hussey, Bolinger, and Badrinath, and finally a no-frills franchise ownership - no stars-starlets (Deepika, Preity, Shilpa, Shahrukh, etc), no super-rich ladies (Nita Ambani) hugging youngsters, etc. All factors combined make CSK a truly champion side. Alas, it will be broken up and we can see the spectacle of other franchises coughing up huge money for CSK auctioned players. Vijay, Ashwin, Balaji, Badrinath all will take in big monies. After CSK did the hardwork of building world class talent, the others will now flock to grab them. Not only did Chennai win Champions League, Vijay won the Golden bat and Ashwin the Golden Ball!! BRAVO CHENNAI!!

Warriors Vs CSK - Fishy
by vaishnavi on Sep 27, 2010 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

Warriors play a supergame against all teams except CSK.Why? I doubt something fishy.See how they smashed South Australian bowlers and more over the strongest of all teams. When it comes to CSK they struggle to make runs. This happened twice in the CL20.I could not digest this.Any fixing? According to me RCB is the best team but their bad luck is Daly Styne's injury in SF agains CSK or else its a different story for CSK.They could have lost the SF.

Thats why CSK is the CLT20 Champions as well as IPL 2010.. When CSK won u seems it fishy or match fixed. if CSK lost the game then u made piont Dhoni,Raina,Vijay,Ashwin doesn't deseves a place in the team and should be droped beacuse they are underperforming players etc etc..So everywhere u have problems if won that also..why felling jealous beacuse RCB was not able to make CLT20 final..

Atleast they proved that they are the best team in India..

Itz a Jinx, dear... TH South Aficans have curse of no being able to play against quality spin attack. CSKs had the best spin attack. Now if everything smells fishy, better check with a ENT specialist :P

Retain
by lookisay on Sep 27, 2010 10:15 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni, Raina, Ashwin, Bollinger, Morkel.
This would be a good balance:
1. WK Captain
2. Good batsman
3. Decent bowler
4. Reliable Pace bowler
5. All rounder with finishing ability

Retaining 4 players would dent CSK's pocket by $5.5 million and they would be left with only $3.5 million for the rest of the 16-18 players. I think only Dhoni will be retained for $1.8 million dollars.

Mallya should drop two veterans of his team -Dravid & Kumble for next season. 20-20 is only for those who are below 25 years as proved in this Tournament. Kohli, Raina, Ashwin, Vijay, Anirudh are striking examples. Not only batting and bowling they were fielding very well.Dravid dropeed a couple of simple catches which ruined his team's chances whereas his first ball duck in semis was a disaster. Kumble was hammered allover the ground and his ground fielding was pathetic. These players should retire from any tournament involving 20-20 overs to avoid eye sore for TV viewers. CSK should also drop Heydon from the team. There are very talented 20-20 cricketers in Warriors, Center stag and Bush Rangers who should be picked for IPL by teams leaving out stale and senior cricketers.

I dont think seniors are burden to any team.. Hayden still has the aura.. Kumble, Dravid and Kallis are the architects of the revival of RCB.. Sachin, Dada topped their teams last IPL, Murali was well above the rest.. Warne too.. In cricket, its not the age that counts.. Youngsters too need some seniors to keep them in the right direction whenever needed..

CSK Win
by Vidhya Srinivasan on Sep 27, 2010 10:14 AM  | Hide replies

The final win by the Chennai Super Kings was great and the icing on the cake was the performance of the Indian youngsters. What irritates me is the partisan attitude of the Media ,commentators and experts. This is what should be avoided One commentator and a popular one at that actually fervently prayed for the Mumbai Indians for the sake of the Franchise. Did you notice that no HOO HAA was made about Chennai making it to the final by any of the channels or the press The same would not have happened if it was Mumbai or Bangalore in the finals.I feel strongly about this and I hope some experts are reading this. This happened at the last IPL also that CSK won.

yes u r correct 100% or even more. Now, people like should think on those guys from Mumbai. This is the way in academics or in business but it will not come to L-light. I think, people like you to re-think on fabric that was holding us in the past 5000 years ( though so many invasions from Animals from all over the world), still we retain our color and soul. Long live this part of world

You are right. The commentators box was over filled by Mumbai cricketers such as Sanjay Manjrekar, Sundil Gavaskar, Harsha Bhogle and Ravi Shashtri. They were all very much excited and backing Mumbai Indians hurling praises at them. They became very cool when Mumbai Indians were out of the semis. Star should consider recalling Navjyot Siddu and Arunlal for the box to have balance.

Auction..
by satish chandar on Sep 27, 2010 10:03 AM  | Hide replies

The next auction is going to be interesting.. I think the teams should be allowed to pick Captains of their choice so that the captain too has the say on the team he wants.. Otherwise, it will take 2 more yrs for everyone to build a team again!!

I think the CSK guys will go for more.. Dhoni, Raina, Ashwin, Vijay, Jakati, Bollinger, Murali, Morkel, Hussey all have proved themselves as very good team players over the last 3 yrs and certainly CSK is going to lose them as other teams also would be vring for them.. Very sad!!!
