Must be another flat track!
by Harsha Bhogle on Sep 26, 2010 10:22 AM

As usual the bowlers are getting killed on flat tracks. Will things ever change? Ever? Again after the series we will write that flat tracks are killing test matches but things will remain the same. Nothing ever changes in India.

Bench Strength!!!
by Rick Shaw on Sep 25, 2010 10:14 PM  | Hide replies

We don't have a capable bench strength to replace current senior players. The problem is more prominent in Bowling dept.
- when Zaheer was not available in Srilanks, the fast bowling options were so limited with Ishan & Mithun!!! Ishan bowls in pathces & not consistent whereas Mithin is yet to prove his strength.
- Ojha, Ashwin, Chawla & Mishra are still not upto the Test Level to replace Bajji
- In batting, forget about finding replacement for SRT (will never find one) but we don't even have an sppropriate substitute for VVS & Dravid!!! (Rohit, Pujara, Badri, Raina, UV all are yet to prove Test level capability). Raina has shown a lot of promise but its too early to say!!
- Wicketkeeping - Dhoni is secured as there no challenge!!! (Karthik is not a Batsman, so can't be in as Batsman)

This is our bench strength !!
by richa on Sep 25, 2010 08:00 PM  | Hide replies

After 90 Overs just 1 wicket and it is really good for australia that they are having good batting practice because these indian bowlers are like bowling machine for them and i also would like to see their bowling practice infront of so called good players of flat pitches like Gautam Gambhir, pujara and now we really need to understand that where we are heading, we just can't judge the players performances on the basis of IPL and Domestic circuit because our pitches are not upto international standard and also you have to see that pujara or even other batsmen are scoring against the really weaker bowlers so it is really hard to judge them from their domestic performance, so it is good to prepare good sporty pitch for them so when they will go to australia, SA, or anywherelse then they will not be totally surprised.
