To all of you Pakistan Cricket Haters
by faryal on Sep 22, 2010 02:09 AM  | Hide replies

Whatever Butt n Co are doing is simply sad !! However, to ban Pakistan cricket because of this is absurd. There is simply no justification as any board or organization can have a bad administrator. Besides this please tell me whether all of you including Sir Botham requested Cricket SA or Indian Cricket to be banned when South African and Indian cricketers were involved in match fixing? How about warne and co?

Pakistan cricket brings excitement to the followers (they could be from any country).. If we are to ban teams at this rate then I don’t think we should just stop here. Let us ban ICC itself as why were they sound asleep and let all of this happen in the first place? Or let us ban the Queen’s cricket team too because Trott was too violent yesterday when he attacked wahab riaz.

The problem is not only PCB but its all the other boards and specially ICC. I find ICC to be full of bureaucrats who are not good administrators

It's simple when South Africa and India found out that some people were involved they didn't cry like Pakis and no Indians supported them. Don't forget that its the Indian police itself that exposed the Indians and Cronje.

After the exposure, they were immediately banned for life immediately and no tear was shed for them.

Pakistanis cheat and continue to cheat and have morons like you continuing to support the cheats.
Thats the reason why everyone is aksing Pakistan to be banned. Everyone knows that there are still atleast 3-4 players including Kamran Akmal who are cheats and continue playing because Pakistan board does Nothing! Wwe are tired of thise team. Ban Pakistan from cricket for 5 years.

First of all,I m a Pakistani girl not Indian.I could not understand why people like u bring religion in every thing? There is nothing to do with religion ,good and bad people are in every nation and in every religion but this is other thing that whole world specially western media is the victom of Islamic Phobia that any thing weather it is small or big if done by Muslim is given too much coverage.

Faryal, I do understand your point that marginalizing any team is not good. I'm not sure of Botham's intentions, however, we do have to accept that Pakistan's cricket team has seen way more controversies/scandals than any other cricket team in history, words like ball tampering, match fixing, spot fixing etc. were unknown to the cricketing fraternity until some Pakistani players were involved with these activities. It might after all be just a case of a few rotten apples, but this bunch of players - there seems to be too many rotten apples among them... and ICC is forced to take very strong action (maybe even considering banning this current team), since Pakistani board is always lenient. Look what happened after the Quayyum report, noone took action, just a few players got a hefty fine, thats all. In a way, a ban would be good for Pakistan, since this will unite the players for once and then they can come together as a unit and showcase the incredible talent they got. I do love the genius of the Pakistanis, I believe they are the most talented, even ahead of Australia and India, but talent alone cannot win tournaments. As an Indian, I'm glad that the board took some action and cleaned up the "rotten apples" (guys like Azhar, Jadeja (I was a big fan of both) and junk frauds like Manoj Prabhakar, Nayan Mongia etc. Once those rotten apples were cleaned, we've never had any allegations.

What incredible talent? Of repeatedly getting out under 100 in a test innings? You talk like they are the Federer/Nadal of cricket..

Let me remind you that this "incredibly talented" team won their first test vs Australia - the defacto standard in cricket - for the first time since 1995 just now. They promptly followed that with disgusting performances with the bat versus England, displaying their lack of talent.

Hardly a talented team....

They trot out matchfixing as an excuse everytime they lose badly. Their board knows the matchfixing never happened so they "pardon" the players.

It is just a veil to hide the horrible performance of their overrated team.

No Need To Investigate
by Patriot on Sep 22, 2010 12:03 AM

Please don't waste time investigating their matches in Sharjah or UAE...all have been fixed...and we all know...please tell us something new.

Infact start reporting to press which matches were not FIXED for Pakistan..that will make it easy.

Pornistan should have another name, Fixistan. It should be banned with immediate effect and handed over the Nobel Prize for match fixing and other unsavory acts for which he has earned world fame.

Don't forget that you are inadvertently telling us that their team is the strongest team in the world today. Criticise, but don't go overboard!! :)

Whilst reading your comment, the picture that comes up in my mind is that of a team full of Supermen who can decimate any opponent OR lose to anyone at their own will (depending on whether and how much money they got paid)... :)

The excuses of Pakistan for losing....
by NashikMarathi on Sep 21, 2010 09:30 PM  | Hide replies

When Pakistan wins - it is because they are talented, fight hard and play fearlessly.

When Pakistan loses - it is because of matchfixing.

Give it a rest - I am not that gullible.

Actually Pakistan loses because of low talent, lack of hard work and playing scared. Matchfixing has nothing to do with it.

My friend, Actually, you are wrong on both counts. First of all, as Indians, let us be gracious like true Indians, not like Pakistanis. Let us do accept that Pakistani players do have real talent, albeit a bit raw. I mean people like Akram, Younis, Inzamam, Anwar, Saqlain etc. from the 90s, and even now they have talented players like Umar Akmal, Md. Amir, Md. Asif, Afridi, Ajmal etc.
And, you are also wrong on another count to say that there is no fixing.... most Paki players, from Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Salim Malik (Mr. Expert fixer), Salman butt, Md. ASif, Md. Amir, Md. Yousuf(again another fraud), Saeed Anwar, have all been involved in some capacity or another. I have a lot of Pakistani friends, who have very good contacts with the cricketing circles and administration and they tell me that apart from Inzamam and Younis Khan (who they are the cleanest players in the last 20 years), almost all others were involved in some questionable activity for sure. And I do believe this is credible information. So, please ban the Pakistani team, for their own good, at least do it in Pakistani style (like the PCB, impose the ban, then u can always overturn/repeal the ban a few days later!!!)

Mr Ali you can believe what you want to - when a team fails to score a hundred runs in an innings over multiple occasions in test match cricket then that is not a talented team and those are miserable performances which cannot be excused by matchfixing.

Being gracious does not mean one should accept nonsense as an excuse for an abjectly bad performance.

Lastly I would say the same of any team Windies, NZ ... and even India if they perform as poorly as Pak does. The Windies team today is a shadow of the team of the nineties never mind the 70's and 80's. When they get bowled out under hundred they do no go crawling under the excuse of match fixing - they admit they are no good at the moment.

BTW their team has very little talent right now in test cricket, raw, overcooked or even rotten.

Pakistan should be banned from doing anything at international level, be it sports, politics, religion or anything. It is never in the news for good things. Corruption, Terrorism, Islamic Extremism, these are all the things they are in news. BAN PAKISTAN, REMOVE IT FROM WORLD MAP. Let INDIA take over that region.

Ban Pakistan from Cricket
by Sriram M on Sep 21, 2010 09:01 PM

Pakistan must be banned from cricket for atleast 10 years. The games reputation is at stake and just as they do in politics, they will start blaming others and involve India, England and also Australia in the issue. So ICC has to be proactive and ban Pakistan
