Dhoni wants to come home early?
by satish on Sep 20, 2010 02:29 PM  | Hide replies

This match shows both raina and dhoni well planed to lose the match.even though raina takes wicket he is not 100% sure that last over and super over was an sure gamble by dhoni to give up the game.hope atleast RCB reach semis.

CSK faltered once again, possibly due to vasthu pundit
by Orient Mystique on Sep 20, 2010 08:39 AM

There were news reports that a vasthu pundit is holding CSK owner and team to ransom with his obviously half baked knowledge of vasthu and absolutely no knowledge of cricket.

Had cricketing sense prevailed, Anirudh Srikanth should have opened their innings with Murli Vijay and Hussey, internationally reputed to be a finisher, should have come down the order, preferably at No.4.

Again, Justin Kemp did precious little in the few chances he got in IPL 2010 and cricketing common sense should have prompted the team to go in with a Sudip Tyagi in the absence of Morkel.

Now it is only permutations and combinations of wins or losses of other teams which will decide if CSK is lucky to scrape through to the semifinals.

I sincerely wish that no IPL franchisee is allowed to retain any player for IPL 2011 and the likes of Dhoni, Raina etc. will be taken by some other sensible IPL francisee in the interest of providing good cricket dished out by cricketers rather than astrologers and vasthu pundits.

Dhoni the best Captain
by Srivatsan S on Sep 19, 2010 03:01 PM  | Hide replies

Don't forget Victorian were crusing to victory, it was Dhoni's calculative decisions and rotating the bowling resources and handling Raina bowling was superb. It was just beco'z of dhoni's brilliance yesterday CSK match went into Super over.
Yes. Giving super over to Ashwin was a mistake, but he thought that Ashwin in all previous matches has bowled the opening overs very well.

dhoni is the most selfish captain
by vilas apte on Sep 19, 2010 02:25 PM  | Hide replies

in the CL T-20 event, in CSK's 1st match against the NZ Stags, CSK were 5 for 2, both hayden & raina falling to bouncers, dhoni sent badrinath, srikanth & morkel to bat & himself did not come to the crease. badrinath won the match, for CSK. but in the next 2 matches raina & vijay gave CSK good starts,& dhoni peeked in to bat @ 4, & poor badrinath came @ no 7. the same policy dhoni follows when captaining india.remember this year's world T-20 championship, against australia we had lost 5 wickets to the rising deliveries, & dhoni sent ravindra jadeja ahead of himself.it is this selfishness of his which irks the seniors in the side.had our players been as indisciplined as those of pakistan, revolt & sabotage would have taken place.

At first match, Dhoni had fever and could not take shots.

Dhoni ... Tactical mistake
by Sohail on Sep 19, 2010 02:13 PM

I don't want to add any thing else but Ashwin is not a good choice...

Infact when batsmen are just swinging their bats spinners should not be given the super over...

Bowlinger should have been given this over...

However the cool which Dhoni kept to get the run out on the last ball was just beautiful...

He is so relaxed and got his team to the super over...

I respect Dhoni and I wish him all the best.
