Too much coverage for Mumbai Indians
by adi piran on Sep 13, 2010 11:31 PM  | Hide replies

This has been an inconsistent side over the last 3 years. Only recently they have shown consistency in IPL. Even there they choked big time in the Finals with all those fielding mishaps and inability to take on the bowling with all the home crowd backing. Suddenly the media is full of them and how they are favorites etc. etc.

MI lost the match due to Duminy... he is a choker... cannot hit the ball out of the ground

Why did they lose IPL final? Why is the despite luck favoring Sachin this time, he didn't complete the job? Is it also Duminy's fault?

@ adi
wow...you want an opening batsman to chase down a target of 185 runs all alone in a T20 game! huh! You really have a great sense of this game boy! He made 69 runs from 42 balls means with almost 10 runs per over, more than what was required. In T20 you have to take some risks for making runs and sometimes you just keep going on and other time you can get out as well! Except Sachin, what other did in that match? Sikher Dhawan 32 off 30; Duminy again some 30 off 25 I think. Ok, Pollard did what he could do and then what? 31 runs were required in 3 overs and that wasn't a big task in T20 game. Yet they lost; it's Sachin's fault man. If his fielders drop the catches, it's his fault either. If Zaheer, malinga and Bhajii go for runs, it's not his fault.

Well as a player i have all the respect for Sachin, but even you have to acknowledge that as a captain some of hos decisions are very poor.

Don't writeoff MI
by Jomesh George on Sep 13, 2010 07:34 PM  | Hide replies

MI r such a strong balanced side and r favourites to win the ACLT20 c'ship. We can't writeoff any team with just one defeat.MI gave some extra runs with some sloppy bowling and fielding and that cost them the match.Still it was a good runchase and Sachin batted really well.In my opinion Pollard should come early and he need to settle before going for the big hits.He is such a tremendous hitter and need to play a big innings and not to be used as a slogger in the death.

Australian and South African teams were better last time. Perhaps that is going to be the case this time as well.
