Analysis

Now I understand that why Pakistan always loose matches (recently) against india in any big tournament (world cup etc.), although their(pakis) overall record is better than india, ofcourse it is due to betting they get money from match fixers, Indian bookies would pay any amount to see them losing as indian public (sic fans) would bet anything to win against pakis. Pakistan cricket and govt should punish the crooks, but i guess they won't as in pakistan top to bottom everyone is corrupt.

means tendulkars WC 2003 knock against pakistan was useless?
This also means that pakistan is so great that they can fix a match to loose or whenever they want to win shows how good they are!

Yeah, that is the case, they are a mix of greed and vulnerability who are tempted by the thought of making quick money. It is the result of their surroundings that they are exposed to and brought up in.

does this prove that
by lookisay on Sep 04, 2010 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

Pakistanis are innocent?

Btw, look at the pattern of Paki reactions for this match fixing and the Mumbai shootings

1. First Paki PM and President will say they are horrified
2. Paki Army / PCB will assure 100% cooperation
3. After the initial shock subsides, PCB / Paki Establishment will ask for proof to act
4. After a week or so, Paki Establishment / PCB will say all the Paki criminals involved are innocent and blame India as the culprit
..
After few months, Paki Foreign Affairs will say Kashmir is the core issue behind all these.
Wait till Ejaz Butt says Pakis fix match because of Kashmiri problems....

For all you know:
Pakistani cricket is a front used by your terror sponsors to raise funds.. Match fixing could be a part of it. Salman Butt's 150K pounds could very well have been intended for one of the camps in the PoK!

Look at the way PCB acting.

When the Police themselves have not completed the enquiry and are investigating, how come PCB knows that the three players are innocent? How did the Paki High Commissioner in the UK get so much of evidence to say that the players were trapped? What is this non-sense?
PCB will bring in nationality into the whole corruption issue and will try to get out the problem. The similar technique which their govt/ISI/Army nexus uses to wriggle out of Terrorism - use Pakistani nationality and hoodwink the public emotionally to hide the illegal activities. India will be the scapegoat for all these.

ICC Chief has clearly indicated that Ejaz butt was trying to fool the committee by not committing to act on any of the players involved and hence ICC's suspension of the players even before the investigation got completed. But getting a wind of this Ejaz immediately barred the players from selection to show that PCB is acting but ICC is rash....
my question to Pakistanis is..
WHY THIS POLITICS IN A SPORT?
Why do you people lack basic decency and moral values?

Imran Khan says
"If one INDIAN player shop lifts then the Indian team should not be banned"
How dare he takes India as a example, does he have guts to talk about English, Aussie teams?
Why is the Pakistani urge to pull India into this whole mess? It's the plain old pakistani cunningness that's is eating up their whole country..

Nothing new

Most matches involving teams of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, South Africa, West Indies, New Zealand and England are fixed. As if players from India are not involved in match fixing. I don't believe Indian players or BCCI officials are innocent of this disease of match fixing.

Why football should be National game? Hockey already is and should remain. Indian sports structure is inherently corrupt be it Cricket, Football, Hockey, Tennis, Wrestling, Shooting, Weightlifting etc.,

Does that mean that the charges were unfounded?
by Joseph Purathur on Sep 04, 2010 11:02 AM  | Hide replies

Elizabeth Robertson, the lawyer for the three players said, "Mohammad Aamir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt have been questioned under caution by the Metropolitan Police and released without charge."

"At no time were they placed under arrest, they were free to leave at any time and they have answered all of the questions that were put to them and have been released without charge or conditions," she added.

Does this mean that the enquiry is over, or that they are not guilty. As a consequence, would that mean that the ICCs action (of suspending them) will have to be revoked? What is the present status of the 'charges' originally made against the Pakistani players?

ICC has their own system to deal with corruption and fixing in Cricket. And ICC is already acting as per their rules and regulations. What scotland yard does is as per British Laws, it has nothing to do with ICC.
